UM vs PSU - Guess the Score

It figures that the Oregonian would do a story on the game featuring the ex-PSU Montana coach. Interesting that he was up for the PSU job but didn't make it to the interview stage. I don't remember that; was it mentioned? What might have been......

I seem to recall hearing that he was looking for bigger things than that of the PSU job...

Hmmm. That's the first suggested criticism of Pflugrad I've seen. Give him a break. He's a new coach with a new team, for crissake!Montana's no different than any other team; it takes time. Considering how well he's done thus far, he's one a great job. Sure it's going to be a tight game. New coach against new coach, with lots of imponderables. It'll be fun.

Coach Pflugrad has been criticized plenty--you just haven't heard about it. And he's not new to the Griz program--he was the recievers coach last year, so this should be and easy transition for him. Compared to the performances of years past, he HASN'T been doing well. He has been making practices "fun" for his players (sack races, swimming, etc.), and the lack of focus & discipline has showed in the number of turnovers & penalties the Griz have had. Hauck left him with PLENTY of talent and they should be dominating the conference again this year. While I am not a fan of his coaching style so far, I DO want him to be successful. Regardless of who the coach is, I'm a fan of the Grizzlies and want them to kick a$$ & take names. I think there is a reason, though, why Pflugrad was passed up three times as the Griz HC before finally landing the job. Just sayin'.....
