The Bears record for the year is 1 and 1. Ok should be 2-0 but cannot go back.
You cannot continue to go back to last year and the year before. This is a new season. New players, new coaches, new offense etc...
Yes, there were mistakes in this past game. The 2 squib kicks were dumn. The killing the clock with :48 seconds left was lame. Both Downing decisions I would guess!?
Some of the problems weren't/aren't coaching mistakes..
#9 is a new player. His coverage ability will get better. Hopefully his ability to find the ball carrier on running plays will also.
The kicker- have yall tried to kick? Really weird hard thing to do- all of yall should go try it.
So many positives this new year..
Cannot believe this Offensive line is the same line as last year! Very much improved!!
Running backs are running with authority.
Receivers are running good routes.
QB-Orms impressive with not much play before this season. BTW-Peterson if you read this. He (Orms) needs to learn when it's ok to drill the ball and when to use some touch. Easiest way for a QB to remember is this-
go by the receivers eyes. If the receiver is looking at you ( a comeback, hook etc.) you can throw it as hard as you want. If their eyes are leaving you ( post, corner, flare, snap etc.) you must use some touch. Orms took his receivers out of way too many routes this past game by throwing the ball too hard.
Points- keep on scoring, it's fun to watch!
Defensive line- yall are kicking some butt! On running plays you are controling the line of scrimmage, even at times getting some push. Need more pressure on passing downs.
LBs- J Eddy is playing awesome. #51- pretty good.
#55 when he knows who has the ball he's fine. But gets lost in space alot...
#2- you're the man, keep on scrapping.
#9- work hard in practice
Safeties- young but haven't hurt anything..
If you guys don't think there's an improvement- you're a little nuts!
Again for Peterson- I know you coaches read this.. Now that #25 has had success with up routes or go routes whatever you call them. AND he #25 has the dbs shoulders turning- you have comeback routes avaliable to ya.
They were there all night Saturday- easy first downs.
Defense- step it up. J Eddy cannot win by himself. This is a team game. Need some attitude out there.
And to all you very smart guys that post all of these great reading materials on here. Go on down to the practice field and tell the players and coaches face to face your opinions. I'm sure all of you were college players yourself.
Like I said earlier- yeah Downing made some weak calls- squib kicks and running the clock out- but
he or nobody else out there is trying to lose. Everybody wants to win. Hopefully the coaches will get together
and continue to push the team in right direction.
Bear players- keep up the work.. This time next week you should be 2 and 1. Much improved over last year!
