So question . . .is it the system or is it the QB?
I am going to say it is a lot of the system and some of the qb, by no means am I saying I would rather have West than Adams, but if we were to get any competition QB in there would they be as successful as Adams with this WR corps?

I would say it is the system but the QB is what makes this system go. When the QB is not on it doesn't make any difference how good the WR's are but when the QB is making plays you can't stop this offense.

It's a good system that really shines with outstanding talent. I personally think that we have better than average receivers about five or six deep, if not deeper, with the top receiver being one of the best in the FCS. And when you couple that with a strong line and good to great RB's, we would win a lot of games even with just a serviceable QB. But with a great QB, we are a top contender.

I think with the current team healthy, and West at the helm, we would still have a good chance of making it to the playoffs, but I think it would be a challenge to win the Big Sky, and progress through the playoffs. That's the dynamic VA provides. I think with VA, we would have beat NAU by three scores. Not that we will ever really know for sure.

Totally agree! the reason I asked is I am wondering worst case having West take us into the Playoffs . . how far do we advance even if we run the table during the regular season.

I think you're spot on, that it's not just the system/coaching or the talent, but a combination of both. Griz fans like to downplay VA's talent as a product of our system, but that would be the equivalent of saying Dave Dickenson was an average QB in a great system.

We might play NAU in the playoffs, but that's assuming they don't piss down their legs in their last two games, or choke in the first round, both of which have a high probability.

I agree this is spot on.

I agree with all this, and the system attracts good talent. Remember West was a walk on. I'm guessing When Richardson gets his shot, he'll be great too. That being said, when the QB is off, the system is very pedestrian.

You have to love the variety of receivers and RBs we have too.

I would have left Forte in too, let's hope he can come back strong for the Montana game. Hopefully we can get VA and Tonani back for that game as well.
