And...instead of being smart with the ball and playing for the last shot of the half, we dick around and turn the ball over. And then we let them drive into the paint and score with a second left on the clock. :wall:

Bogdan with the big dunk!

I think key to a win here is getting more of their players into foul trouble and on the bench.

We're a very average team without Jois.

What's up with that? He was day-to-day over a week ago...

I have to say that I find our training staff really dubious. Guys miss multiple games with injuries that don't even require downtime at other schools.

The Illinois State football game was really telling. Their RB Coprich rolls his ankle in the second quarter, misses one drive, and is back after halftime. Our training staff would have had him out for three weeks. Every year we see players in different sports dinged up with multi-week injuries for simple little things...

I understand that many times little things linger, but the trend is a terrible one around Eastern. Our teams always seem to have several players missing for very minor injuries.

How can you claim to know anything about Venky Jois' injury? If he is not ready to play then why would you push an injury (especially an ankle) when you can still win and let him heal for the end of the season push?

I don't know what the deal is with Venky's injury is, but I don't necessarily disagree with your comment. It's strange considering the reputation of Eastern's physical therapy program.

Let me be clear, I know NOTHING about Jois' injury. All I'm saying is Eastern's training staff is timid when it comes to clearing players. And I know with 100% certainty I'm not the only one who has noticed. The coaches can't play a guy if he can't get cleared by the trainers, and the trainers don't report to the coaches.

Look at the volume and length of injuries suffered by Eastern versus other schools. Seriously, wait until football rolls around when it is especially evident.

Hayford said that you cannot play if you don't practice. Jois practiced on Friday with the team and Hayford expected Jois to be in uniform for yesterday's game. I got there pretty early and he WAS in uniform at the first shoot around and warm up. Then when the team game out again before the start he was in street clothes again. Maybe tweaked something again????? Who knows?

I know its frustrating to watch the players be out for so long with injuries, but we've also seen Brandon, OG, and Parker Kelly all play through injuries this season.

I'd be very hesitant to cry foul on the athletic trainers without specific information on each actual injury. It would be more revealing if you could take a look at the length of time a player missed for each program with similar injuries along with the rate of re-occurrence as well as overall health related to that injury farther down the line.

With regards to Venky, I am glad the team is still winning (3-1 without him) and getting a lot of valuable experience for our bench players in the mean time.
