Uniforms?

I believe there's going to be another announcement before the team comes out on the field Saturday. Still got my fingers crossed for a stadium expansion.

I would think if that's in the works, they would leak it well before kickoff just to get the maximum exposure. I hope you're right! :pray:

Not sure what "announcement" you're referring to, but the fact that there were going to be new uniforms for this season wasn't some big surprise. We usually get a new set of uniforms every year. 2012 it was the all-whites and the previous blacks, 2013 it was the new all-reds, and this season the new all-blacks.

I remember reading something on twitter a while back about a special story on August 28th, but don't think it has anything to do with Gateway. We would have heard something about that I would imagine. Maybe something about basketball.

Anyone find it weird they're asking for a red out but the team is wearing all black? We wont match our players!
 
I like the new unis. The logo on the shoulder is much better than the fakey bird wings of the past.
Who chooses what color combinations to wear? Coaches, players, team captains???

I really like the black uniforms in general and these are sharp. I think wearing black for this nationally televised game is a great idea because of the contrast with the red field.

Oh excellent point! If we wore red on the red field, I can foresee the grumble from ESPN viewers.

I love the gunmetal black helmets the best. These unis are sweet, and will look awesome against the red field. Hopefully SHSU will have minimal orange on their white visitors unis. That color seriously clashes!

I hope they changed their pants color layout. Looked like they were wearing underwear on the outside of their pants last year. :rofl:

Hope you had an opportunity to get to the game on Saturday. Jake is looking great on the field along with others around him. Tell your daughter she missed the meal I took for the Coaches last Wednesday after the practice ;) ;) . BTW thanks for you and all Firemen for what you are doing with all the fires we have had in the State of Washington. This team are going to get better as time goes on. We have a Coaches Luncheon today at Northern Quest, and I am trying to find out where we go. We anticipate a very big crowd after this "Victory". Take care. Vic Wallace

Reference the article about "EWU Drunk Fans attempting to start fights with SHSU Players/Fans, I didn't see anything going on after the game. We left the stadium about 15 minutes after the game, after our team came over and sang "Eagles Fight Song" to their fans in the stands after the game. Maybe it happened out of our sight in the lot after the team got into the lot itself. We have never had that happened before, I worked it for approximately 15 years, and never no problem. I am sure if Chief Tim Walters is aware of the situation, I am sure he will get with Crowd Control, and his personnel to take care of the problem, or talk about planning for other games. Remember every one is worried about their budgets. Here hoping this is the 1st and last incident. Vic Wallace

Yep we were there on Sat. And will make it to every game, home and away. Jake was pumped to get on the field and get his first tackles as a college player.

Glad to hear you made it here to see the games, and will be coming to more. I haven't made a road game in about 7 years, my health is what is used to be, but home games we will not miss. Hope I get an opportunity to meet you and the family. We sit in the Red Back Seats, row 26, seats 5-8, look me up. I am glad you saw Jake make his 1st College tackle, he will be making much more. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :clap: :clap: :clap: This team is going to be very scary once they all starts playing together.
