Uninspired Football

Are in completely over their heads. Two games in a row where the team looks completely unprepared to play. And just as bad, the players don't look motivated whatsoever. What's going on in the locker room?

Didn't see much fight either game. Seemed like uninspiring play both games- this coming from a UNLV fan who knows something about lackluster play. I'm hoping these games were outliers.

I'll be the first to admit that this looks like more of a rebuilding year than I expected. Tough couple of games to start the season and the team hasn't been up to the task. I know a new coaching staff takes time to gel, and it may be some time before they find their groove.

All that said, I have no explanation for the drops balls by our receivers and the poor decision making thus far by GG. He appeared to be forcing everything these first two games. Probably need to give EB3 a shot at Fordham if this continues, though.

Tough break for Grady and Webster but hopefully Webster can come back in a few weeks. Not sure about Grady. Broken collarbones take quite a while to heal.

Not much else to say about these performances. I hope we go into NY next week and find a way to win. Starting out 0-3 is almost insurmountable.

Gage was absolutely awful. 20 yards in the second half? 204 total yards of offense?????? I don't know what we are playing, but it isn't EWU Football by any stretch.

It doesn't help that our offensive coordinator quit after Spring Ball. Or that we had to practice inside all week. Or that we lost our best WR in this game. But at the end of the day those are all convenient excuses. This entire coaching staff and team need to do some serious soul searching. They're definitely not playing anywhere near their potential.

Optimistic things can come together. I'm just discouraged by the apparent lack of effort. This coming from an admitted Monday morning QB.

No sugar coating this performance. Blown out at home by 30 points is completely unacceptable. We need to make a change at QB and someone, anyone, needs to step up and lead this team. Really disappointing.

And you know this after two games?

Here's a major problem... We never give ourselves a chance to soften up the opposition to get things going in the right direction.

While we travelled to Texas Tech, North Dakota State was crushing Mississippi Valley State.

While we are playing NDSU, our next opponent is playing Central Connecticut.

While we travel 2,500 miles to Fordham, Montana is warming up with Savannah State.

We have no outs. It's balls to the wall every week. If we're struggling, there's no opportunity to work through the problems. I think we have talent, but we aren't given an opportunity to pull it all together.

Yeah, we're in a must win next week. Gotta be honest, neither of those two receivers were doing much of anything for us. I think we're in a situation where we need to move some of these young guys to step up. We just aren't catching balls.

First time poster but long time lurker. I do think they need to reassess the QB situation and determine whether it's the right time to invest in EB3. If he's truly the QB of the future then it might be the right time to start getting him some playing time. Same thing at receiver. The guys we're putting on the field just aren't getting it done. But maybe a change at QB could change that.

It's puzzling to me why there's been such a huge drop off. Sure, losing our WR's was huge but we have a lot of the same pieces as last year. At a minimum the offense should be playing loads better than they have been.

There's a lot of truth in this.
