It got me thinking about whether or not the team will have new uni's this year. As I recall, 2009 was the first year of the "black on black" uni's (my personal favorite).
The 2010 version of the away jersey seems to be the same design as the black jersey, just different colors....look at it closely, it's the same jersey as the black one.
However, the current red home jersey doesn't match either of these.
It matches the "old" away jersey. (Picture circa 2008).
This makes me think that the black and white jersey's were purchased together in 2009 as a set, while the red jerseys are actually older (2008).
So, a couple of questions:
1.) What's the shelf life on these and how often does the program purchase new uniforms.....every 2 years...3 years? Looking back, it looks like every two years to me. The stuff the team wore in '06 and '07 are different that what was worn in '08.....but '09 and '10 looked like the same uniforms.
2.) Any idea if the current contract with Adidas has been extended? Personally, I really like the look of the current uni's, but I know there have been complaints.......I remember a while back someone mentioning a Nike offer. I also remember during the playoff run Adidas being pissed off that there were kids wearing Nike and Under Armor stuff like neck gators and stuff which were not provided by Adidas.
3.) And chance new uni's are brought out this year? And if so, what would people like them to look like?
