This years defense will be flying around the field. With the change in scheme, it will allow more speed and athleticism to be put on display. The changes in the coaching staff will also be beneficial; getting people in positions to succeed and not leaning on old habits.

Working from the front back: Our d-line will be interesting. We have some work horses up front with some guys that could really make significant steps towards more playing time throughout camp. Our linebackers will be fine. Zumora will continue to do his thing and i think Alec from woodinville is going to be a stud.

Everyone is forgetting about Raynes in these conversations. Hes a 3 year starter and going to be a captain this year. Moving him to rover frees him up to go make plays in the box; whether hes blitzing off the edge or dropping into coverage. Perfect position for him.

The back end of the defense is now going to need to step up. Too many big plays given up last year. It will be nice to get some guys back and healthy to compete and make each other better.

Im excited for what this year brings! GO EAGS!

Personally, I'm most concerned about the defensive front. Physical OLs bitch-slapped our D badly last year. UW and Illinois State were great examples; neither was a particularly talented group, but they were overloaded wit physically imposing players. Any team with any semblance of OL completely moved the ball all over our D.

FWIW, I have a hard time believing Wadood doesn't start. There were a lot of games in which he was our best defensive player last year.

The defensive front will be much better this year. With regard to your second statement, you and I must have watched different games last year.

I'm going to have to agree with Dopa on this one. We had All American talent everywhere except the interior defensive line last year and it cost us.

Don't take it so personal Dopa and Dopa RJ. Isn't last year over yet?

There are several new BEASTS joining the DL this season. Young, yes. Talented, without a doubt. Size, absolutely. Physical, like an ox. Speed off edge, check. Disruptive personalities, hell yes. Going to give Graham some kudo's for either doing a good job of evaluating talent or listening to those that do when he was DC. Does anyone watch the video of these players when they are recruited? We could drop the first three games and this defense is already better than last year without playing a down yet..

This could be the best DL in FCS as a group (certainly BSC) over the next few years. Thinking Boise St. good when Moore was QB and they dominated Georgia, VT etc... Sky is the limit.

SMELLS LIKE VICTORY.

if I had to pick our best corner right now I think it would be Gamboa. He really impressed me last year. I have not seen Nzuzi Webster play yet but have a hard time believing he's a starter over Wadood, Tucker, etc.

Nzuzi is talented. Excited to see his brother Simba catching passes. His HS tape was fun to watch. Check 2:50

Ive heard coaches are high on Webster. He started against UW last year before his knee gave out.

The kid is talented. That last run in the video was pretty sweet. Slippery and elusive are words that come to mind. Watching him return kicks in the Red-White game was a treat. He's going to be fun to watch this season.

go eags!
