I no longer see Jason Conrad's name on the roster and new transfer from Western Oregon was added.

Color me dumb.

I'd commented over on the olive board about his assumed backup (Visockis). Didn't even occur to me that they were talking about Conrad.

I think his HS coach posts here. Hopefully when the time is right, he'll say what the deal is....

As for Dane Johnson here is the press release when he signed with WOU:

Johnson is a 6-0 point guard from St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio. He helped lead his team to the Ohio state final four, taking them to league, district and regional championships along the way. St. Francis DeSales finished 22-4, and Johnson averaged 10.3 points and 8.2 assists a contest. He was a three-year starter, compiling 694 career assists, fourth all-time in the state of Ohio. He was a three-time all-league and all-district selection, and once handed out 19 assists in a single game.

“Dane is a very pure point guard by definition,” Stanger commented. “He can come in and contribute for us right away and could be an impact player over the course of the next four years. He sees the floor extremely well. He is a great possession guard, he takes care of the basketball. In the game that he had 19 assists, he had only two turnovers.”

*Also note he was named the Co-Freshman of the Year in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference

Thanks for the information Jeremy.

What could have been. :-(

Pass on the best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

I hope Jason works out whatever personal problem he has. It does hurt the "program" when a kid you recruit leaves after signing the NLI and school starts, but I'm sure Bone and crew will work on "plan B." Sometimes in life there are more important things then college sports, not many, but some. I again wish him the best.

I noticed this young man was added to the roster on goviks.com. I would assume he is a walk-on.

30 Lee, Louis F 6-7 220 So. JC Vancouver, WA (Clark CC) (Mountain View)
