Do the schools in the PAC-12 have an advantage over SEC, Big 12, ?? and other major conferences given the TV money or are they just now on par with them?

Oregon hasn't accomplished anything in this little run of semi-relevance they've been on, aside from picking up a bunch of bandwagon fans.

As everyone knows a coaches success is a team effort, his team. A decision to pick up and move across the country without his staff is unlikely. A move is probably a joint decision and I would be surprised if the staff Baldwin has put together would want to make such a long range move that puts them totally out of their comfort zone as far as recruiting etc.Obzerver said:Funny how Baldwins name is bantered about from Miami-Ohio's message board as a potential replacement...

It is interesting that Baldwin said he was on the west side at a high school game this weekend at the same time Sark was in the process of resigning from UW.
Coincidence?

With that said, Baldwin may become the coach at UW...some day, but not now. UW administration, fans, and maybe players would probably all like Baldwin as their coach. BUT, UW boosters will never allow it. Accurate or not, UW boosters believe they are an elite program and would never allow that pristine university to pluck a coach from an FCS program. It may be arrogant, it may be wrong, but it's the truth.
I've said on here before, and i'll say it again. Beau Baldwin is not looking to use EWU as a stepping stone. He loves this university and he has big goals for this program. He may leave some day, but it won't be soon. When the Gateway Project is complete, EWU has 2 more national championships, and there is really no way to get better, that's when Baldwin may consider leaving. He's not a money grabber type guy, he's not a Paul Wulff, he's not selfish. His focus is 100% on this team and their goal of winning a title.

Mostly true, but if Beau left today for a better job it would not in the least be selfish.

Most certainly agree, and that's not how I meant it. I've always said, the only way I'd be happy about Beau leaving, would be to UW (For my selfish reasons, but I'd be happy for Beau and his family even if it were somewhere else where he could be successful).

This makes a little more sense. It's hard to imagine Baldwin going to some place like Miami of Ohio. His entire recruiting base is in the Pacific Northwest and California, not to mention the personal aspect of uprooting his family to go rebuild a program 3k miles away.
And to be honest, why would he want to leave EWU right now when every aspect of the program is getting better every year? He has the best team in the FCS on the entire west coast and the potential to build a dynasty here. I know money always talks, but if money was the only thing wouldn't he be gone by now? Besides, Baldwin made roughly $139k in 2012 (public records). That's not exactly chump change for the Spokane area.
This program has a ton of momentum right now and a huge upside. My personal opinion is that he, along with the President and AD, have MUCH bigger plans for EWU athletics, and EWU football in particular that will hopefully play out in the next 5-10 years.
