USC Starter to Transfer to Sac State?

Okay guys, while I'm 99.9% certain that this story is not true and were the ramblings of a drunk Hornet fan after a big hoops win, I have to bring it up here anyways. That's what the Internet is for anyways, right? I'm sure HHD or someone can put this to rest for me so I can stop salivating.

I was told by a friend who was at the Seattle U / SAC basketball game on 1/9/10 that Armond Armstead made an appearance and had a meeting with Coach Sperbeck, possibly about transferring to SAC following Pete Carroll's departure. For those of you that don't know, Armond is a local product, and the starting SOPH DE for the USC Trojans.

I can't find one shred of evidence that this is possibly in the works. Why in the world would an NFL prospect even contemplate such a move? I doubt he misses Sacramento THAT much.

Anyways, someone please confim that this is just a drunk running his mouth and not based in fact.

Thank you.

I could understand if he wants to escape Mr. Running Mouth. When a new coach comes in, no starter's job is all that guaranteed. Heck, no schollies are guaranteed (just look at Weber not too long ago). Given that Sac isn't entirely bereft of NFL player production (Gesek, Paxton, Osterhout, etc.), this COULD be a good move for the guy. Then again, there are examples of dropdown flops. As you said, it doesn't do all that much good to speculate until his release is confirmed. THEN the rumor mill begins in earnest.

Agreed, we have had some very good NFLers come out of Sac State. I'll believe it when I see it. Also depends on the credability of the person who was rambling.

Kadeezy, Armonds website is still hyping SC- usually when someone thinks about transferring out, they do not stump the home team. His younger brother plays at Jesuit- FB and BB, good at both. I would be shocked if he does- he has a tremendous motor and would wreak tremendous havoc in the Sky and I would love to see it, but I think it is more like California Dreamin'.

Thanks HHD! So one tiny part of his story was true. I guess part of me was praying that he was right!
