Utah State

Baring a major 2nd half choke, this is well worth the trip! Weber looks pretty good but they also look young and somewhat inexperienced. If USU wasn't throwing up crap from the outside it would be a much closer game.

Should have knocked on wood SWCat. That was a epic collapse.

David Collette was the best player on the court tonight! He played under control and just did a tremendous job turning the game around. I know Joel will have a great career, but his defense on Collette was less than expected. He was not the defensive player of the year tonight.

I'm trying not to overreact in my frustration. Big picture, Its still early and this team is young but it's clear we haven't established an identity.

The balanced offense sounded good on paper when discussing the loss of Dev and Tres but after watching tonight's game I'm not sure how realistic that is. When a team goes on a 17 - 0 run someone has to say screw this I am carrying my team tonight.

No one stepped up in my opinion which was frustrating. Granted we turned over the ball a ton and had trouble with the zone. Gittens shot the ball well 50% and Seglin 40%. One of the two will have to mature to "the guy" in critical situations. Joel is our best all around player but even his biggest fans will admit he's still a project offensively.

This was a game we gave away, hopefully the team bottles this crappy feeling and the loss pays dividends in their growth. Just disappointment we know all too well.

Same sh!t different day. Can't break a zone, same plays over and over. I mean it wasn't the players. It was coaching. Rahe got beat again..

I hate the fact that I agree with you! Rahe got schooled! Up 18 at half and lose by 13...... That's the kind of loss that's hard to shake! Collette opened up a can of whoop .....
Joel is going to see that kid in his sleep tonight!

I had flashbacks of the Anthony johnson game against Montana. I think this was more crazy.

I bet we are going to see alot of that 1=1=3 defense.

It wasn't just Joel, Hill was clueless on switches and help D. No one would deny him walking to the rim and throwing it down-- unbelievably soft D all around.

What plays? If Bolomboy isn't allowed to work in the paint or is denied a 'oop, and the 3's aren't falling, nothing is happening except a little random dribbling, maybe a weak pass or two as they fight over who is going to turn it over. The "Wizzard" had nothing instilled in these kids offensively tonight.

The only reason Weber looked so good in the first half is because USU was throwing up crap while Weber was hitting most of their shots. Collette was still throwing down pretty much at will. That 2nd half was an epic choke that I have never witnessed a Weber team come close to doing before. It wasn't just the 33 point turnaround, it was the total collapse on both ends of the floor and an entire team soft as hell, lost, and scared. The coaching was sad too. With 3:50 to go and about 9 down, NOTHING different was tried, no time management was used, hell, after an earlier time-out all they could get done is ANOTHER weak-ass turnover!

Collette was allow to waltz to the rim the entire game, Weber was soft as hell! That was not a great Aggie team by any means, Weber was pathetic. I don't really want to call players out but the post got freakin' worked by a team that is just not that good.

Epic collapse. Absolutely embarrassing! Rahe refused to change the game plan. Play a zone and slow down their offense. A box and one. Anything!! Bolomboy is soft on defense.

That Aggie team is no Bueno. We lost to a bad team because Rahe melted a la Anthony Johnson 2.0.

Hopefully the venerable, but stubborn Rahe will learn from this in the most significant way. Don't hold your breath though.

We still go dancing, and this youthful team (WE are just as young as USU) plays more bball like the first half this season. USU on the other hand is CIT bound if they are lucky.

I dislike Utah State in every possible way. Losing to them is torture. I hate Utah State. They need dentists up there, they need hygiene kits for Christmas. The Spectrum stinks, & is surrounded by a cemetery. Logan is the armpit of Utah along with Sunset, and maybe Clearfield. AJ & catcat cheer for them when not playing Weber and that is one disgraceful fan in my book. I'm pulling for Utah State to go winless on the road in MWC play, which I think they might. Rahe MADE the hooker beaters of Logan look like World Beaters of Cache in the 2nd with his ineptitude of breaking a son of bitchin, gosh damn Zone defense.

Saggin Aggies think they are going to win the Mtn West now. They don't realize it was Rahe who got Tinkle the multi-million contract in the Pac12.

What's the time limit for venting? At some time or another we have to put this lost behind us and move on to the Monday night game against our next opponent.

Toughest lost that you could ever imagine and a total collapse, but it's a long season. We had the better team, but came out looking overwhelmed in the 2nd half. I agree that Rahe made zero adjustments and got schooled by his mentor? Lots of chatter on this board about moving into a more difficult conference....... We're not ready! I think Joel is so concerned about fouling out that his defense last night was like a bullfighter. The only thing worse was his passing out of double teams. Senglin needs to quit running into immovable objects. He's our point guard, not a bowling ball. Bring on Presentation College!

I don't get some fans. BTW Logan has been rated as one of the best places to live in the country by many publications over the years. Other than that I came to talk basketball. It was a tale of two halves. First half usu took horrible shots, missed a ton of foul shots and played without heart. Weber st made almost everything including some very poor shots and pounded usu on the boards. Second half usu played with more heart than I've seen in 3-4 years. They were not settling for outside shots and took it to the rim which opened up some good outside shots which we started to make. Stew out coached Rahe in second half. The zone was brilliant, Weber looked lost. Weber started taking even more bad shots and missed like usu in the first half. I would say overall guard play was about even. Last night the two best players on the court were Collete and Moore even though both played out of position. With a big like Bolomboy Usu would be a lot better. You guys complain about Bolomboy but your guards and coach needed to get him more touches. I think you will end up with a better record than usu by the end of year mostly due to usu playing in the better conference. Best of luck the rest of the year.

Ya, Ogden has made those lists too. I've lived in both and liked both. Logan is nice, but Ogden is better :). Having said that, I hate Utah State. I actually was a USU fan before moving to Ogden, but after maturing quite a bit and seeing how in-state games and fans were across the whole state of Utah,I became more and more aware of the dooshiness of the USU student body. Was the halftime show really dedicated to sexual assault awareness???

Anyone who presses or plays a zone on Weber will always have a shot. TOTAL collapse!!! :wall:

Usufan,

That's what happens when you troll your opponents fan forum!

Weber got beat..... Congrats to USU and its fans. Showed a lot of heart not packing it in after being down 18 and can't knock the superior adjustments made at the half!

I was very impressed by Collette and couldn't even count the number of dunks he had because of his skill around the basket. He played a helluva game. We can't blame this on the refs or the magic of the spectrum, we got out played AND out coached.

It's going to take some time for the sting of this loss to go away......

Yes, it was awful. I guess it's one way to reach your miserable low life student body and remind them not to Rape women especially when everyone is too drunk.

I would or should of gave the edge to Weber st on guard play but turnovers were in usu's favor and Perkins for usu had 9 assists so that's why I said about even. I really like Senglin, Golden, Gittins. Bolomboy is a beast, he needed more touches. His defense wasn't horrible last night either. He kept coming off Collete to help with drives and no one would adjust to cover Collete. All fan bases have dooshy fans. Last night I had 6 dooshy weber fans in front of me. They kept swearing and yelling at the usu fans.. I had four kids with me. On the other hand I had about the same amount of weber fans behind me, they cheered loud for for weber but still really classy people. They even apologized about the weber fans in front of me. I like most weber fans I've met. I think if you broke down most fan bases you would get about 10 percent dooshy fans. BYU on the other hand might be more around 25 percent. I'll be rooting for weber the rest of the way. I think your team will come around real nicely.

I know Rahe doesn't like to use his bench, but our bench had 6 pts, 5 TO's and 6 fouls. Hajek had 2/3 of the points, but we had 4 subs, USU went 6 deep. Our starters played a ton of minutes. I know we hate talking about our bench, but it's almost like we weren't deep enough to compete. I think having Joel play that many minutes is going to wear him down for the season.
