Utah Valley Wolverines

There were a fair number of no shows amongst the season ticket holders. However, the biggest issue was the lack of students. I would say that the attendance figures were accurate. There were a lot of upper bowl seats filled with famiily pass ticket holders that probably didn'y show up on the feed. Many of them filtered into the student section as the game progressed. Probably made the student section look fuller than it really was. I has estimated 300 students, but there were probably far less.

From a Wildcat perspective, this was a great game to watch. There were 100, or so, UVU fans in attendance. It was not too great for them. I hope they come back next time anyway. They surely can't claime that they were homered by the refs. I think that the refs felt sory for them and gave them a lot of calls that they wouldn't have normally. Heck, I was feeling sory for them and I'm sure that Coach was also. Nobody on our team played more than about 27 minutes. We stayed on 89 for about 4 minutes. We could have scored 100 if Randy had felt like running the score up. UVU, basically, just laid down for the last 10 minutes. They had had enough, and rightfully so. :coffee:

Liked the points from Tres, but I'm happier with the rebounds and blocked shots. And every time I see Bolomboy I keep thinking, wow, he's just a freshman. What will he be like in 2 years, 3 years?

This team is really playing as a TEAM. Last year, Lillard was the star (and rightfully so) and the game revolved around him. This year, they really play as a team and they buy into the system. I think they are better this year (even without Lillard) than last year. In the two losses, they could have easily won. Losing in OT on the road is understandable. Losing in Logan is also understandable - they were tied with just a few minutes to go and lost the game with free throws and by missing some very easy shots.

Montana will struggle this year as they lost their defensive genius and Cherry will take a while to get back into the swing of things.

I know it is really, really early, but thus far I am very pleased and impressed and think this team will do really well as the year progresses.

OK, then I won't hesitate. I'm head-over-heels, butterflies-in-the-stomach, unable-to-sleep-at-night, hopelessly in love with this team!

Oh, it's true, it is early. And I should have more sense. I've been in love before only to have my heart broken. But I'm smitten. This is no mini-crush, this is major man-love. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

When Bam goes 4 for 5 from 3, I gush!
When Tresnak goes 8 for 10, I grin!
When Mook gets his multiple pump fakes going and soft little hooks drop, I giggle.
When Bolomboy goes altitude, I gasp!

But what has my heart completely captured, no enraptured, is the Team concept played to perfection. Passing up shots for a better one. The complete unselfish nature of this team is so fun to watch. These guys are throw-back players. These guys play like guys from yesteryear. The lost art of the pass has been unearthed and is on weekly display in Ogden Utah! No NBA "I'm the only guy on the court" attitudes. These guys will die on the court for each other -- and their fans. Sacrifice life and limb for their TEAM. Heck, Fulton gets his first minutes after surgery and the first thing he does is dive for a loose ball. Dive for a loose ball! Fulton!

I'm so looking forward watching these guys. Oh, there will be bumps and bruises. There will be losses, arguments and bad moments. But I won't shy away from it, Coach Rahe's 2012-13 group has stolen my heart!

Pure poetry!!

I agree 100%!!! I tried to tell Catcat that this team was going to be good, but as always he doubted me and as always he is looking like a tool.
