Utah Valley

Good thing for the football team this year since it is helping me forget this pathetic excuse for a basketball team. It is getting harder and harder for me to care about Weber State basketball knowing that we are content to be stuck in mediocrity. UVU has officially passed us as a better basketball program, let that sink in UVU HAS A BETTER PROGRAM THAN WEBER. But hey many fans and obviously our leadership is okay with winning the Big Sky every 3 to 4 years, making the NCAA tournament every 5 to 6 years, getting 15 to 16 seed the years we go and getting embarrassed, always losing to BYU, rarely betting Utah State, losing to UVU, having a crap schedule that is not exciting and never works, playing players out of position all while letting upperclassman go that could have fulfilled that role, never making adjustments, still not knowing how to break a press or zone, losing games after having 20+ points leads at half, and never ever becoming more. I guess I am weird for expecting Weber to try and make something more of themselves. It is not like I am asking them to be a North Carolina or Kentucky by for goodness sakes, if teams like VCU, Wichita State, St Mary´s and Butler can start making some actual noise then why can´t Weber do the same?!

This too. I do not see why people still buy season tickets to this mess. You get two D1 OOC games, NAIA teams, and then the conf. schedule. There should be an option of buying season tickets as packages, "the real season starts games "conf. games,"' and normal all games. Somehow Rahe needs to payback the university for every non-DI game, and loses to instate schools..

Remember when Randy first arrived? That first team, was a bunch of blue collar, mostly JC kids and players that had been over looked. The same type of players that seem to make up UVU's roster. How did that first Rahe era team have chemistry and we haven't had good chemistry in several years? The last few years I have been blaming the lack of chemistry on Senglin, but it might be at an all time low this season. These kids don't mesh well together. I still haven't figured out what Chapmans role is. Multiple guys look out of position. Shouldn't a 3 star center merged with a 4 star power forward and led by the Kansas high school player of the year be better than getting curb stomped at UVU by 27?

There needs to be more accountability in this program! It makes me wonder if we only keep one or two seniors per year so Randy has his "we are young and inexperienced mantra". I don't remember him once using that line when he took Patton and the MASH unit of JC's and transfers to the tournament in 2007.

Honestly guys, what did you expect to happen last night? I can tell you what is going to happen before it happens with this program. I had zero confidence Weber would win this game, none. Nothing ever changes, and won't ever change, as long as Rahe is running the program. If you're fine with that, then good. If you're not fine with it, you lose all interest, as I have. I'll check back in 10-15 years when Randy is finally gone.

I think we all knew that there was almost zero chance of leaving Utah County with a W, but a 27 beating by UVU, that was not expected, nor should that ever happen. But you are right, my interest in WSU basketball has been on a steep decline for nearly 6 years now. I am at an all-time low. I no longer attend non-D1 games, its stupid, pointless, and not fun. I can not support games like that, because that means your support Rahe and his scheduling. I am looking forward to much less stress this spring though...

This might sound a bit crazy, but please bear with me (I am after all the penultimate after game coach). Suffering through a number of games with this team, already, I think I have an idea; an adjustment if you will. Coach, please take note. Change is good, maybe the best of things, and right now, you need change; dare I say, making an adjustment? Such as: PLAYING A DAMN ZONE. :thumb:

First, yes, I feel that Chapman can play the 3 and play it well. However, we need him playing the 4 more so than the 3. I really like Kozak and feel he will only get better and better (queue my top complaint with Rahe: the need for an assistant who actually understands the need and know how of developing bigs) with time, but we need him coming off the bench for the Cats more than starting. He brings moxie, toughness, and interior defense that is lacking coming off the bench (Jordan Dallas isn't good...great kid, but he isn't a DI guy; time for Morris to get his mins because he can actually rebound, jump, and spread the floor). Next, Harding is a 2, play him as a 2; end of story. Move Richardson to the 3. If he isn't playing D that game, sit his ass. Finally, Ary couldn't play the 1, neither can Doc, try Court as the 1 or start Baker as the 1. To me, the issue is that a couple of our freshmen think they are better than they actually are.

Honestly, this would be my rotation against BYU on Saturday.

1. Baker
2. Harding
3. Richardson
4. Chapman
5. Braxton

6. Kozak
7. Court
8. Ary-Turner
9. Morris
10. Doc (he really should have been red shirted)

Yes, I believe is the only answer.
