I was mad a Utah when they canceled with us and saw this coming. Thought you might find this interesting.

i love the part where usu basically says piss off if its not a home and home and we will not come to salt lake only. we had this exact article a few months ago and rahe said weber will gladly come to salt lake only.

i really hope rahe was just saying that to keep utah happy because utah still owes us a game in ogden next yr, the last of the series according to utah. i hope after that game rahe also tells utah to go "lay an egg" to use a term from smjcpa's era.

This May article with quotes from Boylen seem to conflict with what the AD is doing. lol ... ya right ...

Utes' Boylen: MWC needs to schedule tougher teams
http://www.lvrj.com/sports/45975437.html

Boylen talks about teaching his players to be fearless and tough, so he schedules the same way -- and he hopes the rest of the league's coaches start to do the same.

"I tell my guys we'll play anybody, anytime, anywhere," he said. "I want them to think like that.

"So many guys are scheduling to win 20 games. It doesn't matter. It's who you play. What are your quality wins?"

If the Mountain West is to be considered an elite conference, Boylen said, its coaches must schedule with less caution and more toughness.

Before the MWC tournament in March, Boylen said, "We set the standard for the league, how you get into the NCAA Tournament, who you have to play and how you should run your program, in my opinion."

Boylen said he's not criticizing other coaches, but he's not backing off that comment, either. "I really feel that way," he said, also explaining that recruits want to play in big-time games.

Boylen is a joke and so are the Utes. All Utah programs should boycott Utes. Nobody should play them anymore. Its BS that the Utes think they are this special. SCREW THEM!! I really hope the Y says good bye to them too.

Catcat, the Aggies are not going to win by 20 tonight. Utes win this game. Are you sure you were at the Huntsman Saturday.

hi troll,

we would have beat utah by 20 at the dee with some real refs. what game did u see?

im not 100% sure i was at the huntsman but i have seen every in-state game in person this year that has been played oh minus usu at suu and i will be at the one tonight too. you are probably right predicting utah to win afterall they did win in logan last in 1996. this yr's boylen team is much better than most of the utah teams dating back to 1996.

having no job rules, you can see tons of games!

back to seeing all the in-state teams...in comparison to WSU i am not too impressed with any of the utah schools. 0-2 so far with both games we could have won, hopefully dec 21 will be a better game than most are expecting.

skeet, will we beat byu?

Listen here 2cat, I took a different impression away from the
Uties I think they have all the tools to win the MWC this year. Yes their coach is annoying, but they are going to win games this year. Their least athletic player (besides Foster) is more athletic than USU most athletic player. The spectrum tonight will be like it was when we played up their in the Gossners.

- Utah wins tonight
- Weber wins on Dec 21.

Skeetz;

I wouldn't bet my house against Stu. The Gaggies can be great on their home floor. The Newts are better than in recent years. However, I still think there is time for Boylen to mess them up. YBU may have the best team in the State. On our home floor, we might just get them. That is what I am hoping for. :|

my 20 point prediction of utah losing was off by 3 points. i thought it would really be higher than 20 though...

i hope our team is ready for dec 21. 2008-09's 30 pt loss was our worst ever in the series to byu.

Who cares about the Utes or the Ag's....isn't this a Weber State forum?? All I know is that Weber only played really good for about 30mins total in the two combined games. We need more production from the other starters other than DLill...

I heard it was about a 8-10 lead most of the game, and went up big in the last minute or two. Nonetheless Im going to watch the 2nd half of SUU - Drake.

Boylen is my man crush
Aggies are the best team in the state yet again.

I did not see the USU/Utah game, and have yet to see the Utes play. I did notice that Utah had more FGs and the FT difference was 39 for State and 13 for the Utes. So outscoring the Aggies from the field didn't make up for the 22 more points the Aggies scored from the line. I don't care what happened during the game, that difference is a joke.

I don't know of another arena in the country where you know you are going to have to play 8 like the Spectrum. I am no Ute fan, but it gets tiring to go there year after year and get homered. We got jobbed, really bad this year. I'm sure that plays into their decision. (And Aggie fans can say how great they are, there home games are ref aided and they refuse to travel -- go win an NCAA tournament game and I will start listening....)

Calling for the Utes to win the MWC is surprising. San Diego State has a terrific team, most of the players ware in their third year together. The Utes have not beaten the Cougars in 7 or 8 tries, and UNLV is always tough. Too many new faces for the Utes this year, maybe next as it will take some time to gel (and that's if Boylen doesn't go completely wacky on them). And if they end up in the lower half of the league again this year, that's find by me!

You make a great point. Utah State would have beaten BYU if they could have hit their FTs at the Marriot. Honestly, that is the only instate game where the reffing was fair (YES, I see the Irony, fair and at the Marriot, huh? Can that happen?). Against Weber and Utah, USU had a substantial advantage from the line. I don't know if the Utes could have won, even if the refs were being "Fair and Balanced," but it would have been a lot closer. I just don't see how a team that had 45 attempts would turn around and only have 13?? Everyone on this board knows that Weber got screwed at the Spectrum and at the Huntsman; especially at the Huntsman, but really, how long can conferences, teams, and the NCAA allow this kinda of S H I Z to continue? Anyone watching the Utah vs. Weber game could automatically tell that Utah was benefiting greatly from biased reffing (and they were BIg SKy refs). My question is, how can these type of refs continue to have JOBS?? Seriously?? If I were a USU fan I wouldn't want to accept either the Weber or Utah victories as wins, since they were aided substantially by the refs and the same goes for Boylen's Utes. How can they even believe they are a better team than Weber when they had more made FTs than Field Goal attemps??

I dont know how many of you watched the Utah State Georgetown game, but I have never been a fan of Georgetown until yesterday, I loved watching the Aggie players flop and the refs not call it and then the agg players look at the refs like the refs are stupid, Utah State is way too used to the Spectrum where all they have to do is fall down and a foul will be called on the other team, they dont know how to handle it, how does it feel Utah State when you have to win a game ON YOUR OWN, how does it feel to have 20 less free throws less than your opponent? Apparently like always you prove that unless you shoot 20 more free throws than your opponent you really are not that good, when you play someone tough on the road. (which rarely happens). Go back to your Spectrum win a couple of games vs nobodies and continue to believe your the greatest.

Wow, was I wrong the Utes sUCKk! How on earth did we lose. Oh ya, the worst officiated most boring game I've ever attended. Boylen's history. Maybe their new coach will play us in Ogden. The Yewtah Yewts lost to San Diego to take last place in the Hawaii Christmas tournament. San Diegos other two victories this year were against Division III teams. Hard to believe that that Boylen is pulling in $1 Mil per.
