Vic is just plain AWESOME!

Well deserved honor for Vic. He knows almost every athlete on campus, and is the home away from home dad (granddad) to a lot of them.

Congrats to EWU's #1 fan!

On another note...next to Roos, Ackerman has gotta be the best offensive tackle we've had at EWU. And there's been some good ones. I remember when both he and his brother were playing on the O-Line.

To All,
Thank you very much for all the Congratulations. Those young men and women in our Athletic Department are like my own children/grandchildren away from home. They are a bunch of educated, respectable, loving individuals I have ever been around. Being around all of them and their families have really helped myself, and daughter with our grieving process of the death of my spouse in 1999. This was a surprise, I doesn't do what I do for anything special, I just love being around all of them. Now back to Football.

Today as usual, arrived to check out the moving of the dirt, when we came in contact with Nick Lenoue, we talked, about 4:55pm, Nick said if you don't have anything to do stick around and watch us practice at 5pm, we did, and was happy that we did. There were about 55-60 Players on the field. We met 5 of the Recruits, Kendrick Bourne, WR, Jake Gall, WR, , Albert Havili, LB, Jake Hoffman, DB/WR, and Nic Sblendorio. We all talk for a while, and really I enjoyed the conversations we had. All seems like great individuals to converse with. Including of the ones at practice was Jake Rodgers Transfer from WSU. I spotted for very interesting individuals WR Cooper Kupp, Blair Bomer, Jake Gall, Kendrick Bourne, this WR Group are going to be hard to stop. Can't wait to get going. Will be at next practice on Wed. Again thank all of you for those congratulations, really appreciate it, and will continue to be around those young men and women, as long as the man above give me the strength. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace Sorry for the book. ;)

Congrats Vic! I appreciate all you do for the athletes at EWU and for being the eyes and ears for us Eagle fans outside of Cheney. Thank you!

   :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Congrats Vic, you deserve it! It's been great knowing you (and Chris) and shooting the breeze about Eagle Football the last few years!

Way to go Vic! :notworthy:

Your Hall of Fame bust better have you wearing gigantic earphones over a stocking cap!

EWU is so fortunate to have Vic and his family as part of the athletic program. His presence is so vast it's impossible to define what he means to EWU....pretty proud he's on our side!

EWUmomma,
It have been a pleasure getting to know you and your family also. You and your family also does a lot for our Athletes. Those OL Dinners I have enjoyed very much and I know the Athletes enjoy them very much. I noticed how close the OL is at the last OL Dinner in the locker room. Thank you and your family for all you do.
What I do for our Athletes, isn't for any recognition, I does it because we love and respect them all as if they are my children/grandchildren away from home. BTW I didn't Cass yesterday. Here is hoping to see you and the family this year. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

kalm,
Sorry to disappoint you, didn't have any pictures of my big earphones over my stocking cap. Those are the cold days when you see me in the stocking cap. I noticed we made the "Spring 2013 The Magazine Eastern, check out page #31 if you haven't as yet. ;) Those are some great times at those activities, especially after some drinking and attempting to dance. Vic

Vic,
Part of what makes you AWESOME is that you DON'T do what you do for any reason other than love- love of the athletes, love of the game, love of the university. It is a rare and amazing individual that gives of themselves so unselfishly. Everyone who has spent time with you and your family is just a little bit better for knowing you.

We've got some family reunions, and weddings, etc. over this summer so Cass will be back @ EWU on the 21st. Hasn't missed a workout since he's been back home - Even used the weight room at his dad's highschool when we went to Iowa for the 4th of July weekend. (Perks of a very small town and a grandfather that used to be one of the football coaches and a teacher at the school!) He's added 20 lbs. in the 3 weeks that he's been home and is taking advantage of a little more home cooking before heading back for the rest of summer workouts. Can't wait to see all these young men this fall and watch all of their hard work pay off!

To All,
Announcement at the Women Basketball game last night. "There are approximately 300 tickets left for the MSU Game", here is wishing all of you luck wanting tickets. BTW our Women BB Team beat Mustangs 87-74. Good game.
We will have an outstanding WBB Team, some great recruits. Today is the day we should go 5-0 in the Big Sky. All I want our team to do is play hard, keep the turnovers down, cause turnovers against ISU, we should come home with a Victory. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
I have been attempting to stay off the blog, and just read. I must say some of you act as if we are paying those Players. They are playing their hearts out, and they get nothing but criticism from their own fans. Don't get me wrong, I would just like for the die hard fans to congratulate the team when they win, instead of calling them out. The team is 5 &0 in big Sky, along w Montana State. I am sure the Coaches are seeing the same things we are seeing, and will correct it. I always tell the Players "YOUR MAIN GOAL IS TO GET YOUR EDUCATION, FOOTBALL IS SECONDARY" :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I get fed up with some of what is going on, but I manage to bite my tongue. I got mad like hell :x when we came out in the 3rd qtr, 1st play we threw an interception, I am going to call anyone out, the Coaches will, so if possible, do like I do, keep it to yourselves, "PLEASE". Maybe I am to close to the team? It hurts me to see the amount of criticism they are receiving, and the team is winning. They get very little congratulations. We are winning, was the team losing, I could understand the frustration. You can fire back at me, it wouldn't bother me as long as it is simplified. Let us get ready for this weekend, the team deserve our utmost confidence, and backing. This weekend is for sole position of Big Sky Standing, 1st place. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
We do have some injuries, we still have some great players that haven't seen the field in a game as yet, don't know if Coach will get them in, we need some addition. Here are a list of DB/LB, I think can fill in , granted they are replacing some damn great veterans. Here is the list of DB. Isaac Anderson, (PIT BULL) Frank Cange, Victor Gamboa, Jake Hoffman, Christian Hudnell, Moe Roberts, Jordan Thompson, Diamonte Wiggins. You saw where I used the word Pit bull, those individuals play like that, their noses are always in the middle of any stops, they are short, but their guts makes up for their height.

List of LB: Cameron Babcock, Jake Gall (PIT BULL), John Kreifels, (PIT BULL) could be another J.C. Sheritt, and Zachariah Storm. Hope this will help calm you down reference our team injuries. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Vic, I will admit that I have been one of the more outspoken critics of the defense on this blog. You are right that these are college players who are not paid to play, but there has to be some sort of accountability on the defensive side of the ball. The truth is that Eastern has not had a good defense since 2010 and even that year we had our struggles against some very poor teams. Playing sound defense is and has been the achilles heel of this program for as long as I can remember and it gets frustrating year in and year out watching our offense put up huge points on the opposition only to watch dubious "bend, don't break" defensive schemes that give up huge yards and points and let the other team back in the game. I'd venture to say if the offense isn't having a good game on any particular day we lose that game because we cannot rely on our defense to stop anyone. We recruit outstanding players at every position every year, so I refuse to believe that it is talent as much as it is coaching. Everybody knows Eastern will have one of the best offenses in the Division every year, but just once I would like to see a competent defense to go along with it.

Were any of you fans between 1959 and 1963 when we won 7 of 43 games? (The good old days?)
Even under two of our best coaches we won 4 of 16 in Zornes' first two years in the Big Sky and Kramer's first two years as EW's head coach 3 of 14. In those years Eagle (Savage)fans were excited about being .500. (Baldwin's first two teams won 11 0f 16.)
