Viking Football 07\'

Would be nice to have you guys come down and play in the new stadium, seeing how we went up there a couple of years ago. I wonder why it is so hard for us to get home and home games with other teams.

We came down and played in 2005 at Davis. 14-12 Viking win. Not a pretty game by either side.

That is right, I remember that game. Our kicker had to wait for his grades to come through before he could play. We missed two PAT's and a field goal that would have won it. No wonder I forget, I would be much better to have just never remembered that one.

I will be going to the SDSU game for sure!

As for aggie6thman I would love to see the home and home schedule created as well. Its would be good for both of our programs to play each other like Boise St. and Oregon St. have been doing the past 4 yrs. Davis has a good football program and I would love to see PSU play a top ranked Greatwest team in our yearly schedule like Davis. Who know we could possibly even establish a rivalry something that is needed for our program other than the typical PSU vs. UM game but we are not UM's big rivalry because they have the UM vs. MSU rivalry.

I'm not sure why at the D1-AA program there is not more home and home schedules created. I think it is because they find it convienent to have the flexibility when it comes to scheduling especially if a 1A school offering lots of money comes calling like UO and Cal did for us last yr.

PSU vs. UC Davis: Battle of Wine Country!

Ok, so maybe Oregon State is the real viticulture school in oregon, but knowing UC Davis's history with viticulture and impact on wine growing in the US, and how Oregon's Willamette Valley is growing very rapidly to become a wine mecca of its own, this rivalry could be the battle of wine country! Ok, maybe that's just me being a wineaux.

I think that PSU and UC Davis would be a great rivalry. Neither school is overly dominate of the other, and I think it would be really great to get a rivalry going.

How great would a little Sunday tour of wine country be after a big PSU road win?

I would expect to see "Go Viks!" in at least one of the vineyard comment books.

:-)

Either that or you could go to drown out your misery from a tough loss!

Oh by the way, nice stadium. What's the total capacity for football?

The stadium right now is going to be around 15,000. 9k of those are permanent seats, with the rest coming from the grass areas in the endzones. Stage 2 will fill in the endzones with permanent seats, we just need to get the donations in to make that happen. Raising money isn't something that our athletic department hasn't shown they are capable of doing.

Aggie stadium is beautiful. I can't understand why the Cal-Davis AD Department would have any trouble raising funds with all the money down there. You're awash in money!

That looks more manageable schedule for PSU!

The San Diego State game should be interesting.

here's my early prediction

Sept.1 @McNeese State W
Sept.8 vsSacramento State W
Sept.15 vsUC Davis W
Sept.22 @San Diego State L
Sept.29 @Eastern Washington W
Oct.6 vsNorthern Arizona W
