It would have been interesting with Adams here, but I don't know if he would have been able to develop as he has at EWU. EWU has a great history at developing quarterbacks (Erik Meyer, Bo Levi-Mitchell). For us, it seems our quarterback plays until he has a bad game, then someone else plays until they have a bad game.
The last comment by Burton sums up how we develop QB's here "It's going to be an interesting quarterback contest here in the spring". Despite having a quarterback who is currently in the top 10 in school records (McDonagh), and the quarterback who was highly touted as his successor going in to the season (Penn). If this is how we develop quarterbacks here, no wonder Adams did not come here.

Boy, BSC, don't know where you've been regarding PSU quarterbacks.

Looks to me as if the staff has done a pretty good job of developing quarterbacks. It looked like KM never really recovered his consistent touch, confidence or judgement following his injury last year. The coaching staff stayed with him, to some extent I suspect because it had to. They didn't jump all over the place. We didn't have a quarterback du jour. We started the year with a good, healthy conpetition between PP and KM. Both were deserving of consideration. They opted to go with KM, presumably, becaue he was spectacular last year last year until he was injured. Then, Penn went down with an injury and the coaching staff lost it's backup option. Perhaps they should have dipped deeper into the backup pool earlier, but that's Monday Morning Quartebacking (you should pardon the expression) at its worst.

Under the circumstances, seems to me that we definitely need a good competition next spring. Fortunately, it'll be between at least three people.
