trying to figure out last play of the game....

Ammon Olsen right sideline pass complete to Mike Sharp for 14 yards to the SUU21,

Justin Brown for loss of 8 yards to the SUU13,

Ammon Olsen for loss of 2 yards to the SUU11 (Davond Dade),

PENALTY SUU illegal forward pass declined. (1-10-SUU07)

So the penalty was a second forward pass?

Either way,we got the W and Southern Utah may be questioning how well they can really hang with high caliber teams after for the most part beating upon lesser quality teams all season.

Next week they got a up and coming Northern Arizona who is on a tear of their own and we got Eastern Washington who was thoroughly waxed by Montana.

We committed a season record penalties for the game, but....they threw 3 interceptions and dropped a pass for two. A messy win, like many we've had this year. There have been many in the BSC this year. Talk about parity!

I thought we'd be lucky to bed 5-6, and look at us, 8-2. We may lose to EWU, but I"m happy with what we have.

Yikes! We should have lost this game but it is better some times to be lucky than good!

Great teams find ways to win. In the playoffs, you don't advance by having more yards, fewer turnovers, higher time of possession, fewer penalties. All those things help, but if you don't have more points than your opponent at the end of the game, you are going home.

From what I was hearing from Tom Hewitt and from what I could see, some of those pas interference penalties on Xavier Coleman were questionable and a couple of obvious penalties by SUU were ignored.

My favorite part of the game was watching McDonagh come in to carry the ball. Everyone in the stadium knew they were setting up a pass at some point, and it finally came on the td to put them ahead. Have to feel good for a kid who lost his job and obviously has stuck with things enough for the coaches to put him in a situation like he was in last night.

That SU receiver Mike Sharp may be my favorite non-Viking player this year. He had a couple crazy plays including that one where he went about 15 extra yards with a PSU defender on his back.

PSU is going into the final week with a chance at a conference title. I know a lot has to happen, but normally they've been done weeks ago. What a great year!

Why the heck did SUU go for two?

EDIT- naturally, I had to post that before googling for an answer to that question. http://www.thespectrum.com/story/sports/college/southern-utah/2015/11/14/suu-football-lamb-shows-championship-mindset-decision/75814632/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Good story from Dwight Jaynes of CSNNW of Kieran McDonagh and his impact in the game.
