Not surprising that PSU is picked No. 1 this season. The team is almost intact coming into 2013, and we won the conference last year. Northern Colorado, winner of the Tournament, is losing their key setter (Hughes) and hitter (Arnold). We'll be fine, barring injuries (knock on wood). Two new players are showing up on the roster - Campbell and Hughes. Campbell is a transfer from Dayton, a six-foot OH. Can't expect her to do as well as Wheeler, but one can hope. Hughes is a freshman DS from Tigard. A Defensive Specialist is something like a libero, picking up hits to the back line. We haven't had a DS for some time; now we've got two (Kawashima and Hughes). Something tells me Seeman is going to try some new formations. Schlatter in an earlier interview said she expected to do more hitting this year, confirmed by Seeman? Pre-season practice begins Saturday. Go Viks!
