The vagaries of early non-conference games - yesterday we lost to San Diego State in three sets, then came back and beat Eastern Kentucky - who had beaten SDS in an earlier match - by the same amount. In the last set against EKU we held them to 7 points, a rarity. Webb, the freshman OH, proved her "effectiveness" with 9 kills. We'll see a lot of her this year. Isn't she left-handed? We hit a lot of service aces against EKU, also blocks. Promising.
