Wondering how this game will go, I can't say for sure. Both teams have had great moments, but also games where they underperformed. Is this the year we knock off the Cougars? Depends on a lot of things but it sure would be nice for the Wildcats to break their futility against BYU.

Sadly I could not attend. My wife only let choose one game today. I should have done both and bought her flowers. Besides my relationship with Weber State sports dates back long before I met her.

6 turnovers. 6! We run that hard and turn the ball over that little and we are going to beat a ton of teams.
The Y zoned us at one point, and we still went right at the basket. Wow. Loved it.
Foul trouble and we showed great depth, with really good rotations. Nero, Doc, Barnes, they killed the Y with their quickness.
I thought we'd need 30 from Harding to win, he delivered. I knew Chapman would have to play up to my expectations, he delivered.
At one point towards the end we had 4 guards and 1 forward on the court. I commented to my son about what a small lineup we had. He replied, "This is what they do in the NBA now dad, get used to it!"
For you advanced stats nuts, we scored 1.6 points PER POSSESSION in the second half. No one does that!
Finally, I was sitting there thinking about the last time I watched the Weebs beat the Y and remembered that Jake Schoff was playing for that team. This Y team had another Wildcat turncoat/traitor/ex-player (you pick the term that you think fits) in Cannon. I was thrilled Rose put Cannon on the court at the end. I honestly don't have anything against the kid, but I loved watching his face when he lost. To even it, my oldest son played baseball with Jake, he was a great kid too, and I really liked him. But I loved watching him get beat by his ex-team too.
Hope to see some fan energy and more butts in the seats with this win! Fresno will be interesting to see what type of carry over we get.

As for the terms you list for Cannon, I would call him a "former player" and wish him all the best. He's not playing a huge role on his current team, but he was one of the bright spots for BYU last night. I think he chose to leave a program that once valued him and then didn't, so his choices were to sit the bench for the rest of his career or transfer to a place where a coach would value his contributions.
Good win last night, but let's not forget that this is one year out of the last 15, so maybe the win had a little extra emotion in how we felt about it. Looks like a great season ahead for the Cats, keep it rollin'!
It's funny how little conversation there is after a huge win, yet had we lost yesterday this board would have once again most likely been filled with "Rahe cant beat BYU, never wins instate games, and is anyone surprised" posts.
I think a few fans owe it to Rahe and this team to come on here and congratulate them for the win.

The level of apathy is high right now. There is many long time posters on this forum that haven't logged in for a year. If we lost we would have gotten the same amount of posts. There just isn't a lot of fans here posting anymore.
Do you blame them? You WILDCAT called people names all last year when they had a different opinion than you. Now you want the same people to apologize? No matter if the team is winning or losing you have to call out forum users. Congrats WILDCAT you have succeeded in killing the basketball forum.
Back to the BYU game... I never thought I would see a game where we went toe to toe with a fast paced team. Pirate your son is right, basketball has gone the way of small ball and living by the 3. We had the magic ticket against the cougs. The key is that we need to keep playing for the win and not play to not lose.

But since I'm this notorious Name Caller I guess I'll actually do what I'm accused of. And start by calling you a LIAR. There, now you have a reason to call me a name caller.
As far as asking for people to apologize, I never once said they needed to apologize, they are free to have an opinion of their own. All I'm asking for is for them to just be man enough to come on here and CONGRATULATE the team for doing something those same fans said Weber could not do.
But alas like usual, they disappear after a good win. But right as rain they'd have been here by now had we lost.
