• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

I only caught the last 15 min and change yesterday because of an unpublicized schedule change. Sac was impressive in harassing Viking ball carriers, forcing turnovers leading to easy points, and draining threes. The aggressive defense was great for fans (the place was nearly packed, unlike in past years), but DID reveal one glaring weakness...PROVIDED that the opponent can get past that incredible ball harassment. For nearly the entire second half, the Vikes stayed in the game every time Sac went on a run because the Hornets could not defend the back door cut or shut off dribble penetration on the rare occasion that a ball handler got past the outside harassment. That led to some VERY easy Viking points on layups. This could easily have become the Hornets' first league loss when scoring more than 80 for that reason. PSU couldn't get those quite often enough to get the job done, though, because Hornet defenders had VERY quick hands, leading to very quick fast break buckets.

So, Sac has the potential to make some noise in the BSCT...IF they address this problem. The good news is that we even have this issue to talk about. In past years, the Hornets were so miserable that one didn't have the privilege (?) of nitpicking one particular issue. Coach Harkleroad is to be commended for improving our squad to this point.

The good news, Shanti Smith is back. The bad news, is Andrea Chenier is not, and Se'Nyce Parrish will not be back this year. Also, Portland State is a bottom feeder in the Big Sky, so beating them isn't the biggest deal. The great news is that Asylyn Crenshaw game has improved, which is a must for us to win more with all the injuries our players have.
