Cub: I would think Reed, though there has been talk among fans that it could be in Holt. But ISU has a real home court advantage in Reed. In 2001, the Bengal women drew 5,000 to the championship game in Holt but gee, 3,000 at a championship game in Reed, doesn't get much better than that.

I can tell you if ISU were to host the tournament all games would be played in Reed Gym.
Regarding Eastern's loss and the impact it has on things, this makes ISU's game with Weber State on Saturday crucial.
An ISU win, up's the lead over Eastern to two full games and puts the Bengals in a position to clinch at least a tie for the regular season title Thursday night. More importantly, a two game lead, if ISU can maintain it, would force Eastern to have to sweep the Bengals to host the post season tournament.
Weber State is down to six scholarship players Saturday and their record is poor, however they have given ISU fits the past few years and have some players who seem to play their absolute best against the Bengals.
If you can make it out to the game tomorrow (Tips at 2PM) PLEASE do so. The bigger the crowd, the more vocal they are, really helps ISU.
The end of the road is in sight. Time to apply the finishing kick. A big crowd can help get that done Saturday.

If the Bengals are going to host they are probably going to have to win at least one over EWU. If the Eagles sweep ISU and tie them EWU will own the head to head tiebreaker. THat's assuming both teams win Thursday of course. Sac is playing pretty well at home right now They will test the Bengals.

What is the tie breaker if ISU and EWU split the two games but both have 3 conference losses? (don't want to think this way but it is interesting). If it is the record against the third place team, then we better hope that Northern Colorado and not Montana State gets third place.

I don't see how there could be a tie-breaker situation with Eastern if ISU splits with them. If ISU splits with Eastern (even if ISU were to lose to Sac on Thursday) the best Eastern's record could be is 12-4 and the worst ISU could finish with a loss at Sac and a split with Eastern is 13-3. There is no way ISU can split with Eastern and Eastern still have the same amount of losses as ISU.

First off to the over 18-hundred fans who attended the game this afternoon thank you! That was a tremendous crowd, the coaches and players appreciated it.
Hopefully, the final home game in two weeks won't matter but it still would be nice regardless of however important it is, to have another great crowd for senior day. Is 2,000 fans possible?????
Second, I checked with the conference to make sure the following statements are accurate. They are...
A. With the win over Weber State, ISU has now locked up a first round bye in the conference post season tournament regardless of where that will be played.
B. If ISU wins Thursday at Sac. State they will clinch AT LEAST a TIE for the 2011-2012 Big Sky Conference regular season title. Eastern can still host the post season tournament if they would sweep the final two games vs. ISU but as far as the conference record book is concerned, ISU would be listed as a co-champion. (Like last year when both PSU and UNC finished 12-4)
C. If ISU were to beat Sac. St. AND PSU were to beat Eastern Thursday night, ISU would win the regular season title outright and would host the postseason tournament. (Eastern in this scenario would be three games behind with two games remaining.)
The "magic number" for clinching a tie is one. (One ISU win and / or one Eastern loss) The "magic number" for winning the title outright is two. (Any combination of ISU wins and / or Eastern losses that add up to two does it.)
It's unfortunate that because Eastern's game Thursday starts an hour later than ISU's, the Bengals won't know in the event of an Eastern loss that they won the title until after they have left the arena (of course that's if ISU is able to win themselves...)
