get this guy some pads! i like your attitude. :D

haven't heard how practices have been, just helmuts and shorts the last 2 days. if you do go to practices, bring your camera or video cam, i'd like to see some film too!

GO HORNETS!

It's great to have a new blogger on the board. However it would be a good idea to wait until you sober up before you post. 9-2 ???

I rode my bike past practice Monday afternoon, great to see them working hard dispite the 100 degree heat! I feel really good about this season. Over the past two years recruiting has been excellent, if this group continues to mature and gel I don't think that there is a game on the schedule that we can't win and that includes UNLV and Montana!

Welcome SacBigDaddy! Hey, im optimistic about this team. I don't think its far fetched we can go 9-2. I mean we were basically three or four plays from being 9-3 last year (CSU, Weber and ISU).

I'd would agree this is the best roster in a few years! Anything below 7 wins would be a disappointment. However, Big Daddy may be right on the mark with a 9 win season. That would be outstanding!

Go Hornets!

I watched about 15 minutes of practice yesterday and I was definately impressed by the intensity. They were only in shells and the QBs all were in red jerseys, but I think Jason Smith was doing a good job of connecting on some DEEP passes. I'm not sure if that's a plus for our offense, or a negative for our D...

Full pads today and lots of intensity. This team has a lot of quickness on both sides of the ball. Jason looked good on his passes, Morris Norrise (FR) looked sharp at WR. All of the running backs had their moments, Sam McCowan showed good quickness out of the backfield and Crox looked good as usual. Dailey didn't play (injured?) and the strength coach was working him hard on the sideline. Don't know if he will make it or not. Not sure where his head is right now and attitude didn't look all that good. David Born is an animal. The guy is huge and he did a good job of protection most of the day.

D-line was active and Nash and Clark looked good on the outside. The D backs look a lot better this year than they did last. Heath boomed a couple of punts and Chris Diniz ended the day with a 59 yard field goal. All good stuff.

Is anyone else sick of the Bee lack of coverage? Not a word about Hornet Football in a week now. In Fresno and San Diego, the papers give two or three articles per day to the teams including position breakdowns. We get nothing here but one article a week which lacks any insight. Instead we read about the utter embarassment known as the Kings and a minor league baseball team that no one cares about.

Stop your whinning. The Bee will report when they deserve respect. As Allen Iverson says it's just practice. Nothing more. Besides who cares about the Bee. Newspapers are on a lifeline right now.

Whooo..the information on Daily doesn't sound good. Hopefully this isn't the begining of problems with him. We don't need that type of distraction.

Hornetluver - why are you one here? Your post is stupid - you don't care about the team or the Bee coverage. You need another hobby or another 9-5 job. You've probably never spent a day of your life out of Sacramento or you'de know San Diego State hasn't had a winning season in 15 years.

Glad to hear the practice intensity is high and spirited. I feel a great season coming on, just from the vibe on the board, the depth at many positions, recruiting class, traction for Sperbeck's program, etc...

Since i am out of state and crave any pics or vids, is there anyone planning to video the Team Scrimmages on August 22nd and August 29th? Hopefully one of the Hornet Nation can get this done. Thanks in advance if anyone volunteers! :)

GO HORNETS!

we talking syntax. dude, settle down and use a few periods now and then! :)

just saw the youtube update from Sperbeck, what a class act. as a recent example, the freshman RB Meekins was recently jettisoned from the team for going out and getting hammered one night. unfortunately for him, some coaches were waiting for him back at his dorm room. still haven't heard any updates on Trinchero. regardless, this is a clear message from the coaching staff for the rest of the team - you're either on the bus or off the bus. and i am loving that message.

also heard Terrance Dailey has not been practicing lately due to a tender achilles tendon (ruh roh). hope he can nurse that one through the season, but not an easy thing to do.

getting excited to hear about (and hopefully see some film) of this weekend's scrimmage!

Hopefully Daily can recover and will still be able to contribute this season. :|
