Weber State at Idaho

Expecting a similar performance like in Flagstaff. Not much to say/expect.

Wonder if they will honor/remember the murder victims from two years ago during the game. What an incredibly tragic event that was.

My heart goes out to the families, friends, and community. I think it was two years ago and the trial still hasn’t happened. Hoping justice is served soon.

UI has been having struggles of their own. This could be an interesting game. It's really only about pride at this point. Of course, I will be watching and pulling for Weber, but I truly just want to see us improve a bit. It has been a tough season. I want to have something to make me feel better about next year.

The only thing that will make me feel better about next year is if there is a new coach and staff in place. Otherwise, my hopes are about as high as they are with the incoming administration and cabinet.

I feel your pain, and I'm down in the dumpster emotionally as well. I keep trying to remind myself that things are never as good or as bad as they seem, and that there is always hope. Whether that is with a new coaching staff or not, I want to believe that things will be better next year as all of our guys start out with the additional experience and growth. If coach Mental is kept, I hope he has the sense to hire an O coordinator. I also hope they go all out to find some defensive studs. It has been a really poor year for FB at Weber State.

The Wildcats played tougher than I thought. There were two blatant pass interference penalties not called on Idaho that changed the complexion of the game with a phantom PI called on the Wildcats in between.

The first one caused a turnover on downs which if called should have given the Wildcats the ball in FG range down 16-14. The phantom PI called on the Wildcats allowed Idaho to continue a drive which put them up 23-14. The second no call PI (where Idaho player made no play on the ball and pushed the receiver out of bounds and then taunted the player after the no call) left Weber State to kick the FG and make it 23-17.

I don’t think Idaho needed the help, and I still don’t think Weber State would have won if the correct calls were made. I just hate seeing crappy Big Sky officiating protecting the ranked teams…not surprised though.

All this said, what the hell has happened to the defense? Last drive where they needed to stop Idaho, they had contact on the runner behind the line and he gained six yards. Then a simple screen pass which was easily shut down in Hill era goes 74 yards through sloppy tackling.

After seeing Cal Poly play Sac State the way did, I think they actually will probably have the edge next week. A 3-9 or 4-8 with this easy schedule is brutal. Any time more with Mental is just putting the program deeper than a gopher’s basement…but the AD or the University doesn’t even care anymore…so buckle in for at least another year of this. I guess the W doesn’t stand for Weber State now, it stands for Who Cares? The all white look sucks. I’m sure they will wear the white helmet next week, too…just go back to the shield logo and Ravens purple jersey.
