Weber State Accepts Bid to CBI Tournament
CBI Bracket | CBI Schedule | CBI Historical Results
Weber State Athletics reports that the Wildcats will compete in the 2010-11 College Basketball Invitational. The Wildcats will host a first round game on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sunday night the 16-team bracket of the CBI will be announced at 7 pm.

The quarterfinal games will be played on March 21 with the semifinals taking place Wednesday, March 23. The championship round is the best of three games taking place March 28-April 1.

The CBI started in 2007-08 and its teams compete on the home court of the higher seeded teams. The tourney is single elimination until the championship round which is the best of three format.

This is Weber's first ever appearance in the CBI and its 18th overall post season appearance. Weber State has competed in 14 NCAA Tournaments and 3 NIT's. This year's post season appearance is WSU's 4th in five seasons and is the most in school history in such a span since its six consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 1968-73. This also is WSU's 3rd straight post season appearance for the first time since 1978-80.

Weber State is the first Big Sky school to compete in the CBI, former members Boise State and Nevada have both made appearances as well Utah has.

Well good for them, it's always great to see one of the Big Sky's lesser programs get a chance to play in March, best of luck guys we're proud of yah! :thumb:

Actually, good this is really good news that our 3rd place team was able to get a home game in this tournament. Speaks well of the entire conference.

Last season we were boasting about being in our first post season tournament so we can't exactly knock them for giving their Seniors another chance to play.

Go get 'em Weber State.

Agreed Brian though the cit and CBI aren't brag worthy it is pretty cool for a small conference to get three teams in the post season 2 yrs in a row. In yrs past it has been not to often that we even had a second team with a post season. Hopefully we can get a win like yall did last yr. Our last two games have been beatdowns.
