Weber State vs Portland State

Opening conference play in the second week. Glad it is at home. Hoping the Wildcats can score a lot of points and get the offense rolling. I think Portland State can put some points on the scoreboard, so defense will be tested but should be able to slow the Vikings down enough for Wildcats to win. Passing and receiving needs to improve.

It would certainly be nice to have a convincing win. However, with the high numbers of freshmen and sophomores contributing on both sides of the ball, It makes it hard to predict outcomes. That's true untill we see more games. One good thing is that our home schedule is quite favorable this year. PSU does have some talent. This will not be an easy game at all. A good crowd will help. Let's hope that 20,000 students come out to the game.

Good win for an opener. Give Munoz some space to breathe and he performs.

With this very solid D and what’s looking to be a superior O line, Munoz may be able to excel. Bankston is our MVP. Balance that running with some consistent passing and we may go a long way in a super tough conference.

And I mean a SUPER tough.

Very encouraging performance. The Wildcats had a great defensive effort..and the offense broke it open. They need to be a bit more consistent out of the gate. Three non-conference FCS games up. Wildcats need to show they can take same performance on the road. Will be fun to see.

The encouraging thing about this game, to me, was that we didn't play even close to our best and still found a way to dominate in the second half. Our O was playing much better at the end of last year, so I feel that we will get that back. Our D is still strong and deep. They seem to make the needed adjustments and are proving themselves once again. This is a fun group to watch. It was a good crowd, for an opener.
