I thought with that PI call (awful call in my opinion) in the endzone and Weber getting that two point conversion that we were going to let this slip away, but we made the big plays.

I don't think that anyone can ever accuse that broadcast team of being homers. They seemed elated every time we made a big play. Kind of refreshing to be honest....

Both these things stood out to me as well. This may be my bias playing in, but on that PI call it was third and long and the ref threw the flag kind of late. It felt like he thought, “oh man, if they don’t get this they’re not gonna score” and flagged it. There was no substantive contact and the ref was looking right at the receiver from a few feet away.

Credit the team for over-coming that though. Due to my Viking PTSD I didn’t believe they were gonna win until the last second ticked off, but they were just the better team all around, on the road against a quality opponent.

And for sure credit to those announcers as well. They were super well prepared having talked to the PSU players and staff and as you say seemed just as thrilled when we made a big play as Weber, lol
