Weber-Utah state

I think Weber State has the talent to be good, but yes, same old story in terms of underperforming. Granted, Bolomboy went to to the line 10 times (most on either team), but he should probably be taking more than 10 shots. He is quite a weapon and can draw double teams, so being that Weber has plenty of capable three point shooters, he can also kick it out to them when the double team comes. Maybe Weber did that, I dunno, but they should do more of it.

Also, what really stands out to me is Kyndahl Hill's lack of aggressiveness. 28 minutes and he put up two shots and scored two points. Dude looks like a monster, but he plays like a mouse. His two points was on a thunderous dunk, and I said to myself, "Why doesn't he do that more often?" I think he'd get other teams in a bunch of foul trouble if he used his size to drive to the basket. It was passable in his freshman and sophomore years, but I expected him to beast it up by now.

Spot on with Hill, I've been waiting to see what looks like hug potential to bust out ever since his RS PnW game. I thought I saw glimpses of it this year but it looks like he is who he is, at least vs D1. Personally, I thought Rahe did not have the team ready to compete with big boys, again. USU seemed to score at will by just patiently running the same PicknRoll/PicknPop along the 3PT line. USU didn't seem to struggle much at all without their leading scorer and did just fine against our "dominent" post players.

Weber, on the other hand, often seemed out of sync or simply struggled with decent defensive pressure. Maybe its just that Rahe runs such a complex, flashcard based offense that I have a hard time seeing all the many plays being run. I don't understand why they often looked hesitant, confused, or just out of sync. Offensive boards killed, its difficult to get offensive boards when you have Joel out taking jump shots and nobody near the paint for a board-- I saw that several times.

Anyway, I think I have a pretty good idea of the team we're looking at now. My prediction is they will be so-so throughout preseason, above average in BSC play, struggle again with SUU, not win the meaningless regular season title, make the tournament in Reno lol, and lose in the semi's or final depending on the pairings. Not too dissimilar to many of the past 10 years. I'd love to know why it takes Rahe all of preseason to be ready to compete in the BSC, regardless of the type or skill set of the players he has. Other coaches, rookie or seasoned seem to be able to get their players and system ready to compete when the season begins.

I sooooo badly want to see Hill become the player he can be. It is beyond frustrating! His defense did look better but on offense he had that same "deer in the head-lights" look going on. Ugh!! He needs a real bigs coach. Also, follow your shots! Weber lost out on two or three second chance opportunities because they were running the wrong way and the Aggies manufactured opportunities and scored a lot from second chance buckets.

What's up with taking a time out when you've got the momentum and a chance to expand the lead?

So am I the only one but was the music awful last night? I felt like I was at a rave not a basketball game. Never thought I'd say this, but put Joe back in charge of the music! Oh, let's play Joker before we shoot freebies. Smart!? Looked at the Box and it said official attendance was 8964. Good number, seems a bit small to me. I feel there was at least 10,000 there last night.

Rahe never has the team ready for pre conference games. the community has a love affair for Rahe, maybe they thing he's a cute little fella,I don't know.He was out coached and couldn't get a conference championship, any of the three years Damian was here. Brother,if you can't win with an NBA all star on the team, you can't win. And what's up with Hill playing all game, when the guy looked like he was asleep on the court? Why would the coach keep hin in the game? Is the bench that bad? There needs to be a change, period.
