Weber vs Bristol

What exactly is giving everyone this renewed hope that things are suddenly going to improve when we start conference play?

I have seen absolutely nothing in the last two weeks that would lead me to believe we will suddenly be a new and improved team. At best we will start off slow and perhaps see gradual improvement before the tournament .... HOPEFULLY? First 10 minutes against Bristol were lame. Yeah we picked it up and at halftime are getting the job done but we should have jumped on these guys from the beginning!!!

I still want to see the coaches spend more time developing the young guys, and all of them. Let's see what they can do.
Who do you want to see? Can't pull Redshirts and we don't have many players left to put in the game. We are not a very good team! Conference play does not look positive!

Much more of Richardson. Let's try to get Hunter some development time. And let's see what Van Pelt can do. I would rather see these guys getting a chance than players that are playing very marginal right now in hopes that they might become better. It ain't happening any time soon.

It's a win.... But your high if you think we're ready for conference play! There's High Schools that could've beat Bristol tonight! What a cup cake, but if that gets us ready for EWU......?

Here we go!

Ready or not, we are at EWU on Thursday. It's hard to tell much from a game like this. After the first 10 minutes, we dominated in every aspect. Bristol proved that, if left wide open, they can hit a three pointer. Other than that, they don't have much going for them.

How will we fare in the BSC? Only time will tell. It will probably go right to the wire. The tournament host will probably have 4 or more losses.

At best, we host. At worst, we will be well positioned in the tournament. Those are my predictions anyway. :twocents:

Interested to see how if the team is able to correct the way we start games. Whether is OU or Bristol, we rarely seem mentally and physically ready to go. I swear 80% of our turnovers are in the first 10 minutes of the game. UVU,USU may be the only exceptions.

The starting line up change was strange. Maybe that is the line up for conference play, but who knows! Funny to see all the chest pumping and glowing news articles from last night. Funny because we played a team in its inaugural season and has been on the road for 14 games! Still, probably shouldn't over react over that win, just like we shouldn't react from the butt kicking in Oklahoma.

I'm not so bullish on this season. Almost want to exhale because it's now conference season and everything will be ok! I'm not so sure that's the case. We still have a major turnover problem and our front court is weak! Yup, our front court is getting their butts kicked every game!

Every season is fun, but I firmly believe we have too many players playing the wrong positions to be competitive. I think we're in for a long season! I hope I'm wrong, but in a huge win last night, I still didn't think the team looked good!

Well webergrad02 you got the big win you wanted......do you still want to play comparative scores???

Altitude didn't seem to effect Sac at UVU. A 25 pt thumping in Happy Valley (a place Weber doesn't seem to be able to get a victory at) sure beats Weber's 12 pt win in Ogden.

Not a great sign when it takes a 50 point lead and 3 minutes left in the game against an uncompetitive team to get Van Pelt on the floor. Hell the scout team made it on the floor before he did.

Hope this isn't the case, but might be the last time VanPelt plays in a game for Weber State. He looked stiff and you're right got no love from Coach Rahe last night.

I am not sure there is a big difference between beating that Bristol team by 30 or 50. I did like your win at UVU. You guys got a convincing D1 road win that looks better than our win against them at home.

Thanks 02......comparatives never mean much anyway....every night is different in some way or other....I am very happy with our win in Orem.....
