Weber Vs. The University of Utah

Well it is finally time. Weber travels to Salt Lake city this week to go and see the The Utes. Mac said last night on Talking sports on channel 2 that "we are going to show up". There were some other comments after that, but we will let them go. How is this game going to go. I think it will be much like the game on the islands, The cats will hank on and stay tough for the first half, but may be out gunned in the second half.

Last night's "Talking Sports" was a load of crap!! Does David James realize that MAC doesn't Coach the Ute's? That jack ace DJ didn't ask one single question about WSU. It was so bad that even my wife noticed that DJ didn't ask anything about OUR team.
If you are going to have a WSU coah on the show, please talk WSU sports.
I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT BYU & UTAH FOOTBALL!! WSU HAS A PRETTY DAMN GOOD TEAM HOW ABOUT SOME RESPECT!!

Ya I saw it too, pretty rude that David James didn't even ask one question about Mac's own football team. Just shows how much he loves Utah/BYU...the sad part is he went to UC-Santa Barbara.

Beat the Utes and we will have some respect, no wait, the SLC media will just move on to BYU. Never mind. I will be there, row 49 ugh should have bought my tickets earlier. Was anything figured out with frontrunner? Is anyone meeting downtown for food before the game? We are riding on the 3:00 train so we will have 2 hours to eat and get up to the stadium on Trax. Anyone recommend a good spot to eat that you can get to from Trax? We were thinking about the Gateway but...

The Wildcat Club is having a tailgate party across from Rice Eccles stadium and has a bus from the Dee Event Center and back.

I talked to the Wildcat Club and they said the ticket for the UTA/Food is $20

The part that is kinda lame is u have to buy this ticket in advance from WSU - probably so they know how much food to buy.

I'm sure some of the students will be checking it out and when they find out they cant buy food at the tailgate party they will the WC is dumb. Also, a student can ride UTA for free so they wouldn't even want to pay the $20. They shoulda had a student price and shoulda let everyone know what was/is going on.

Word has it the fans will be meeting for the 3:08pm train at the Union Station on 25th street to get on the Frontrunner.

I have a friend that rides the Frontrunner/Trax to UoU twice a week for class. He said it usually takes about an hour and 50 minutes so I hope no one misses the 3:08 and looks like that will put us there just more than an hour early.

Patten Jr, can you confirm this? After all ur the friend...(I think Patten Jr hibernates during the basketball offseason)

WSUCATFAN,

Assuming ur in W06, we will all be pretty close since the section looks pretty skinny.

I know some of the peeps I'm going with will be on row 26, row 33, n row 40.

Football: WSU @ Utah - Sep 27
(Sep 15)
The WSU Wildcats will take on the #17 Utes of the University of Utah for the first time in almost a quarter century. Game time is 6 PM, Saturday, September 27th. The 'Cats and Utes have played twice in football - 1978 & 1984.

Tickets are still available at the Weber State ticket office for the Weber section. Call the ticket office at 801.626.8500. The Wildcat fans will be taking the Frontrunner to the game and also will be having a tailgate party at Rice-Eccles Stadium. For more info call the Wildcat Club at 801.626.6576.

Close to a couple thousand WSU tickets have sold so far...don't miss out!

Tickets: $25 (WSU ticket office / online / call )
Student price: $10 (on campus only - I think the Shephard Union)

Yeah, it takes an hour on Front Runner and dthen assuming Trax is running on time, another 40 to 45 minutes to get to the stadium. So if you all leave by 3:08 you should be getting to the stadium around 4:45 or so.

Man after hearing about DJ's lame interview with Mac and reading a recent article on SLTRIB about Mac, I almost want Weber to win this one. Like catcat said, i am going to school at the U now and really like their football team. And like the rest of us, I HATE HATE HATE HATE BYU!!! And if UTAH loses to Weber, BYU idiots won't let it down for the rest of my life, so sorry guys but I am still cheering for Utah on this one.

I'll save my cheering for WEber for the Montana Game. GO UTES. GO CATS. EPH the zoobies!!!

I just love it how the local media doesn't give Weber any respect for anything. It doesn't matter what WSU does in basketball or football, all these jack aces want to talk is BYU and Utah. Hell im suprized most of them dont call us WEBBER STATE. Most of the state doesn't realize how good this team really is. Wether WSU wins or not this weekend they would still lay the smack down on those #aggies from Logan.
WSU will gladly cash the 100k check from Utah and then move on and win the Big Sky.
GO WILDCATS!!!

I just listened to "This Week in Big Sky Football" in which C. Higgins is interviewed and I got the impression that they are looking at the game against Utah the right way. They realize that win or loose they still have to Win the Big Sky to get it to the playoffs and really want to focus on Montana. I tend to agree with this however it would be nice to see them make a game out if it. Most importantly is that no one gets hurt we need to have everyone to kick some griz trash.

Coach Mac will be on 1280 the zone this afternoon around 5:20. Hopefully Gordon Monson will actually ask Mac about the Wildcats, and not just all about those damn dirty utes.

Does anyone know if the seats us Wildcat fans are in are bleachers or chairbacks? I have never been to that stadium and so I dont know if i need to take my stadium chair.

AJ,

The visitor section will be bleachers so we are bringing our stadium seats. It should be close to a sell out! See you there. Go Cats!

If you roll the dice 36 times, you will get on average one "snake eyes" and one "boxcar." In college football, you may get more than one "boxcar." (...and Utah could get get the "snake eyes." Who'd 'a thunk Oregon State over USC?!?!???)

Yes, Weber could lose, but they might win. It could happen! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

what section is ur seat?

I have noticed a lot of the people I know that are going are in W06 (visitor section) rows 25-40. U all by us?

I'd love to see a Wildcat victory, but the next best thing is being able to compete with the U, and looking better that the Aggies did against the Utes. Also, Weber is playing in Salt Lake, while the Ag's played in Logan. To do better that USU would be great (granted not a very difficult thing to accomplish) for Weber. Row 27...
