Well, was holding on to starting the game prediction until there was some clarity around who would start at QB for Oregon... The cat is out of the bag and VA was named starter. (click on depth chart in article to get pdf)

So......... Eags are a vastly different team in many ways this season. A great deal of youth, improved overall team speed, size up front on DL, new weapons on offense with the TE and new 4-2-5 defense and DC. Also see these players are VERY hungry, aggressive and competitive.
Some things remain the same; Coach B and staff are whole, many returning OL, WR corps is intact and still likely to be the most dominate group in FCS, MOST IMPORTANTLY a true emphasis on competing remains and was enhanced by two superior recruiting classes and depth at every position.
Oregon is a team in transition as well and offers overall team speed like nothing the current crop of Eags have ever seen. This one is a game of attrition; although Eastern is considered "up tempo", this game will truly be a track meet for our defense.
We stop the run up the middle and attack the edges with the rover and safeties to bottle up VA and the backs and make Oregon have to throw over the top. There will be some big plays for Oregon and likely a TO for our defense as our edge rushers put some pressure on VA. (They are going against one of the best lines in FCS in practice every day after all)
Want to go 100% HOMER.
Reason tells me Oregon by two TD's, but don't think Oregon can stop the offense: EWU 48 -- OU 45
West will have a very good game. Oregon's D isn't as good as UW's last year IMO. Eastern's line is superb. Coach B will change tempo whenever possible and is a superior coach to Frost/Helfrich at OU. We know VA can get fidgety. The D gets 2 TO's in the second half, Eastern win's this game.
