Oregon and Elite Defense in the same sentence is hilarious...If Oregon had an elite defense, you would have won at least 1 national championship over the past 5 years...instead, you have 0

As far as predictions...

I think Oregon scores a lot in this game. Not really worried about VA,he's not really a running QB as we saw, he scrambles to escape pressure, but never really ran much at EWU except when the pocket broke down. I think he will wear down big time over the course of the year if Oregon has him run a lot, he's a little dude...
I do think we will really struggle to stop the spread option, we always have and this is a team that runs it better than anyone we've seen before. Oregon probably puts up 60 on us.

I think our offense will have a good day as long as West can get comfortable. We have tremendous talent at the skill positions that could give Oregon a run for their money at some spots, our receivers have absolutely torched OSU and UW the last two years and they don't get enough Credit. VA received a ton of credit for his performances (deservedly so) against UW and OSU, but how may times was Kupp (or a number of our other receivers) running by himself for an easy throw because he absolutely abused their secondary. Oregon's D will be much faster and much more athletic than we've seen before, but I think our O can easily put up 30 points.

This is not a betting line but all I could find. The computers say O is a 55 point fav. which appears to be the greatest spread of the weekend!

Well, 24 hrs to kickoff.... Any changes of heart? I have read and watched no less than 50 articles over the past week on the Eags, VA, Oregon and the game. Will say the Oregon papers did a good job of covering Eastern and the intrigue of the game is palpable. Oregon is a 35 to 46 point favorite depending on where you look. Eags make this a contest.

This is not the litmus test for our team's season and the relief of getting it under our belt should launch the Eags into the UNI game and first home contest against MSU.

Interesting aside; UNI installed a new up temp offense this off-season, new coordinator, new QB -- well you get the idea. They will still be physical and the dome inhospitable. Good times await ;-)

Seriously. Eags have two QB's who can play, O Line did a good/great job, WR's were DOMINATE #ALLGALAXY and the D flew around. This is a seriously good team and Oregon played inspired football to beat Eastern.

I predict that VA will start this game, but not finish. He will be taken out by either Helfrich (big lead), injury (he's small and not solidly built like Russell Wilson), or cramps.
