Week 11 - Cal Poly

Nice win, quality win by the 'cats! It was good, entertaining football today. Perfect match-up or they just came out to play?
If we would have come out with the same desire and preparation, last week's game may have had a different ending. :coffee:

EVERY WEEK

Great win by the Cats! Pulling off a W against #16 Cal Poly. Our defense came up big in this one.

All of this hate toward NCAA. I might not agree with what he always has to say, but I do like what he adds to this forum. This is a place to express opinions. I for one like reading about others opinions and insights. I don't think there is much to add if we all have the same thing to say. It is kinda boring if every post was only glass half-full opinions. It is really funny. More people post after a lose than a win.

It's because there are more "closet haters" on this forum than "closet optimists"

People like to be able to say I told you so. It's the same thing that happens over on the hoops side.

Heck, Sometimes I wonder if some of the fans on this site even want Weber to win games.

I am fine with NCAA and his negative rants about WSU never beating a good team, BUT when WSU beats a VERY GOOD Nationally ranked team he runs and hides. I would really enjoy reading his breakdown of this game, but It is a bad look for NCAA to only post when he has something negative to say about the program. :twocents:

Alternatively, he could have quit because of all the posters that have jumped down this throat for being critical of WSU.

I really hope that's not the case, but if you are going to post a bunch of stuff on a fan board then you need to have a thick enough skin to handle it when people don't agree with you.

There are a lot of posters on this forum that are critical of Weber State but at the same time at least acknowledge the good things that Weber does.

Then there are others who post only to talk about and highlight the negative things that happen to the teams and blatantly ignore the good things. (Heck I remember how all hell broke out on the basketball board when Weber lost to UVU but then the board got very quiet and certain posters disappeared after Weber won the Big Sky title.)

Those are the ones that get called out and honestly deserve to be.

Agreed! :thumb:

I'm still waiting for NCAA's report on the Cal Poly game. NCAA, you are a few days late! :thumb:

I feel he is very insightful. No, I don't agree with him on everything, but I feel he has every right to post and continue to post. If you want to be positive and feel everything is sunshine and rainbows, go for it. If you feel the Sky is about to fall in on you and it is gloomy, rainy and dark, by all means...post away. THIS IS A FORUM!! Do I really need to post a definition of forum? Good grief, I for one, like the diversity of opinion.

One thing that stands out to me is how far off we all were about how our team would play this season. We all thought that our D would be stellar. A few injuries to key players has made those predictions off base. Although our D has improved as the season has progressed. On offense, we expected a strong running attack behind a big experience O line. Our running attack has been up and down and injuries have played a part in that as well. None of us expected a good passing attack. Everyone was lamenting our lack of a strong QB. Our passing attack has saved us in several games.

I don't think any of us were even close on our predictions of how this year would unfold. We are not as smart as we think we are. :dunce:

No matter how they got there, and it has been plenty frustrating at times, I would say most of us thought 6-5 or 7-4 was possible, even probable with the direction Hill has guided the team. That was my hope and 6-5 was my expectation for the "successful season" topic. I bet most of us didn't think the playoffs were out of the question, I didn't. Based on their play so far, who's able to play currently, and how playoff selections have gone in years past, I still think it highly unlikely they make the playoffs but I'll be happy to be proven pessimistic.

I don't think NCAA gives nearly enough credit and don't particularly enjoy all of his rants but I do find his points of view worth thinking about and forming my own agreements or disagreements. I like that he's willing to put it out there, negative or positive. How boring to live outside of reality and the reality is there's as much negatives to talk about as there is positives.
