Week 12, Causeway: farm extension @ Sac State

3. Hornets need RB depth. Year after year it seems that Croxdale is the only RB healthy enough to play during the Causeway. I will give the credit for being extremely tough and full of heart - but the talent is not enough to be an impact. For once can he develop some depth at that position!!

I suggest Sperbeck contact Dillon Baxter (RB). He is leaving USC at the end of the semester. He is considering SDSU (he's from SD), UF and PDX St. If he is gonna look at an FCS program, as a Californian and Cal St. alumnus, I would prefer he remains in State. By that, I mean both geographically and academically. Sac St over PDX St.

Many, myself included, hope Coach Rock takes him in at SDSU, but after seing the way our 3rd string RB performed against Colo St and Boise St, we were impressively blown away. Sac St could use Dillon.

if your Wanless do you give Sperbeck one more year and see what he can do? or do you immediately start looking for a replacement? Personally i feel like he deserves at least another year. This program was nowhere before he came and now at the very least we expect to compete and win.

He needs to go at least 7-4 next season (not likely), if he doesnt, the only supporters he'll have will be whatever homers are left on this board. 6-5 next season wont cut it, he's had plenty of time to establish depth. Any shortcummings next season he is directly responsible for.

This years team isnt any better than a Moosh era team. They went 4-7! Sure, this years team was probably more talented than any of Moosh's, but the record says otherwise. After this season, I'm not buying it. The only difference between them is the fact that Sperbeck isnt bitter, he beleives in the program, Moosh never seemed to truly care. But that doesnt mean anything if you cant win consistantly achieved i.e. playoffs. Beating OSU and UM arent consistencies.

Sorry if I sound bitter, I've bit my tongue over the last few days. Sperbeck, as of now, is showing little promise in being a long-term coach at Sac State, it's becoming same old, same old...

This kid looks like a discipline problem, I don't think Coach Sperbeck would pursue him, he had enough of that with Terrance Dailey. If Baxter transfers to San Diego he has to sit out a year, if he goes FCS he can play next year,

I am over and out on this board. It's been a pleasure knowing you all, and getting a peek into the Sac program and its legacy. I was also impressed by the large number of talented athletes that have come through the program in the last 4 years, and fans like yourselves that care so much about the team. Best to you all!

Best of luck to you and Crox, fickyfack. Thanks for coming around and thanks for Crox giving his all out effort and heart while he was playing. :thumb:

The Aggie Band-uh is good despite the Hornet Director. No one in the Band-uh or out likes the man. He is a self-righteous Duffus. You can have him back.

Why are you guys so obsessed with the band?

Because they used to be childish and undisciplined as those in their quad the other day. They actually now play with musicianship but they still can't march on step together.

From What I've heard Hilliard was basically 100% ready to go during saturdays game, but possibly bad blood between coach and player may have sidelined Hilliard in his final game as a Hornet. Kind of sucks when Coach Sperbeck has been over using him all season.

I agree with stungalum2, Saffron will most likely remain starting quarterback for the Hornets gooing on into next year. Sperbeck is more than likely banking on his development, like with Diniz, and going to miss out on recruiting a new QB. I personally believe Saffron can develop into a good QB if properly guided, but we should have a decent replacement. Ultimately Jeff Fleming will be greatly missed!

We are losing a workhorse in the backfield and with our raw QB situation, recruiting an exceptional back will be instrumental to are overall success next season.

we have good young receivers, but are loosing many experienced and taller WR's this season. Watching Sperbecks style over the years he will definitely recruit tall red zone receivers.
