Week 12, Causeway: farm extension @ Sac State

I know that many think Jeff Fleming will be out against UC Dungpile this weekend, but I just saw some video of him at the luncheon today and he was at the head table with Sperbeck and looked chipper.

He supposedly gave a speech (no video available), but I have a hard time believing he'll sit this game out...

What about Reed?

Interesting. It sounds like the preferred farm extension back-up QB is a scrambler. The Hornets have seen their fair share of running QB's. (McGee, Johnson, and Kavanaugh come to mind.)

There is no smack because both teams are bad, but the Aggies were even boring last week, like they just didn't want to be there. I'm sure they will be up this week but I hope it will be an exciting game regardless of who wins.

Or because Walmart has phaggiemba (you know, the resident troll) working triple shifts over the holidays.

Hell GA72, you served that one up on a silver platter.

I saw the same thing...I would think he would do everything possible, as well as Reed, to play in his last college football game

I especially like Sperback's comments at the end of the article. I guess we can now call Sac State "Dungpile #2".

I'm going with 15,104

Your Sacramento State Hornets 28
U.C. Dungpile 17

This game could get even further out of hand if Wright gets intimidated after getting smacked around and goes into a catatonic state like he did last week! aggiemba will really have his hands full tonight at his job in the ucd laundry "unloading" Wright's pants!

Go Hornets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone should bring back those old http://www.davisux.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; T-shirts.

Hey Honuts,

I'm checking in from the game. Not much to cheer about this year on either side. How are the remedial math classes going?

This game has been an embarrassing microcosm of our entire season.

Quite true. But's also ANOTHER example of horrible officiating. I counted at least TWO Aggie PI non-calls in 4Q alone, and either a defensive holding or PI in the end zone at the end when the DB blatantly grabbed Hendershott's wrist. That crew was trying to HAND the game to Davis on a silver platter, and our offensive execution didn't help matters any.

I did like that Tebow-esque TD run at the end, though. Too bad it was too little too late.

i know i'm supposed to come in and gloat over the win..but...let me share something with you guys.

when SDHornet saw my post that i couldn't attend today to deal with a family issue, he sent me a message to tell me he hoped it wasn't serious. i gave him the details, so he sent another really nice, supportive note. i really appreciated that.

so, we can be 'heated rivals', and still treat each other with respect!

SDHornet is the man!!

One other thing..how great is it that this is going to be the final regular season game from now on? with all the conference crap in FBS, rival games are being overshadowed. I really expect big things from this rivalry in the future.

Dr. Mike: You are correct on all counts. SD is one of the best people on this board, both in terms of board content and in terms of being a great person. We're glad he's here, and we're glad YOU're here, too.

Having Causeway mean something again is going to be great.

BTW, please don't misconstrue my comments re the officiating to mean that Davis didn't deserve to win this game. Regardless of the officiating, Davis legitimately dominated at least from the time I logged in late in 3Q and presumably from the opening kickoff. You have to take advantage of whatever opportunities present themselves, and Davis definitely did that, particularly late. I don't know which league provided officials for the game, but one thing you'll learn in Big Sky play is that BSC football officials are as bad as (if not worse than) Big West hoops officials.

Congrats on the win, Doc. We'll be back next year at your new digs to try to take the trophy back. But enjoy it for THIS year. Your boys definitely earned it.

the one thing i took away from this game is that i really hope safron is not our qb next year, the offense has been almost non existent the last 3 games and i feel like almost every pass he throws is a fade route, i know he has to have some check down options

also cant blame the kicker for this one, who would have thought lol

Safron and Edwards filled in admirably at times, but the last few weeks have been absolutely embarrassing. I feel for players like Hilliard, Fleming, Reed, Nash, and Hendershott. They deserved better than our team sputtering out... A special thanks to Bryan Hilliard. While this wasn't his best season, that guy was an absolute horse for us for 5 years and he sacrificed his body over and over again, surgery after surgery. Hilliard up the middle... I thank you.

I would put money on our Day 1 QB being a FBS drop-down or Jake Geringer. Sperbeck knows the current talent will not suffice. We lose a TON of experience from this year's squad, but it can't get much worse!

.500 + next year or coach might start to hear footsteps...
