I will watch the game on TV but I can't build up much enthusiasm this year. I don't expect to see any quality football.

Speaking of which, where is that troll that coronated Gould not long after his hire? University Gardens was his name if memory serves me right. :lol:

If K-Ham continues his solid play, we should be fine on offense so I think we have the edge there. They haven't shown any signs of life on offense until last week (and that NAU anomaly).

Both defenses are garbage so that is a push.

As always they have the edge on special teams.

Whoever wins the turnover battle most likely wins this game. No stupid turnovers and mistakes and I like our chances.
 
Not sure what games you are watching but our offense is the worst in the conference with points scored along with do TO last week. Our defense has played better this year, not sure if you watched the games but our offense lost to UNC and can't score in RZ. ST wise Cornish has took a dump this year but Punt team has done well. With Mederios kicking off we never give up returns and Davis KO team is one of the worst. Our Punt return does well and had another Long Return last week. Check the stats

Why don't you take your own advice. K-Ham has posted over 1100 yards, a 3:1 TD:INT ratio, and a completion percentage of almost 62% in 4 starts (plus a little time in the MSU game) plus a QB effeciency rating of 156 over his last 3 starts. The offensive season stats (yes we are the worst) mean nothing considering K-Ham only saw action in the last half of the season. Our offense should be fine in this if K-Ham keeps doing what he has been doing. :coffee:

He was solid on 3rd downs at NAU...weren't you watching? Considering he is a true FR, I'll take what he is producing anytime, but yes he will need to improve on the sack issue as his career develops.
 
K-Ham reminds me a lot of Safron early on in his career. He's agruably better than Safron when he took over the team. K-Ham is athletic, but not as elusive or aware as Safron. I would give K-ham the edge in the arm strength column, and I hope his accuracy and timing improves over time like Safron's did.
 
Glad to see the game on TV. Was worried that our one home game every other year at Hornet Stadium might not get picked up.

Hope to see a larger crowd than last year at Davis (7,100). Had to be the smallest crowd for a Causeway in many decades if ever.

Weather prediction is clear and temps in the 60s

Let the 62nd Causeway be a great one!!

At this point in their careers I think K-Ham is well ahead of Safron. I recall Safron making most of his plays with his legs and didn't look to comfortable throwing the ball. I want to say that most of his throws were fade routes down the sideline that were rarely on the mark. Of course Safron didn't have this system his FR year so the comparison isn't apples to apples anyways.
 
Was just taking a look at the UC Davis sports web site and find that our Hornets have only 6 wins all time over Davis at Hornet Stadium. YIKES. Remember us winning a few times at Hughes Stadium when the Causeway was held there and guess we have many wins in Davis.

Think this is motivation enough.

Time to stand ground at 6,000 J Street over the Ags of Yolo County
 
I do realize that K-Ham has improved and I believe will be a good QB for the hornets. My point is that I wouldn't go as far as our offense has the advantage in the game or our Defense has not improved. Or our ST are terrible. ST is more then just making a FG.
 
SDHornet, I'm flattered! While I was expecting something more imaginative than "troll", its clear that coach Gould has had a tough time of it. Of course, Sac State is right there with Davis so I guess misery loves company?

Well at the rate you guys are going it'll take Gould the length of his entire contract (assuming he lasts that long) just to match the amount of wins Sears had last season.
