Week 13: Sac State vs UCD - Causeway Classic - Senior Day

I love that the Davis message board is blaming the loss on our band playing too loudly, too close to their snap.

I’m glad Thomson scored that final TD because I believe they were very fortunate to score their 1st TD. UCD got robbed of an INT on a pass KT never should have thrown down by the goal line. That defender had his right foot in bounds before the left was out (or perhaps it was the left before the right, IDK)

But we’ll take it! And the last TD would have given the Hornets the lead anyway!

I didn’t even notice the band thing. That’s a lame excuse.

Hope P. Williams is Ok.

Me too. They sure missed him.

Near the end of the game when it was apparent the Hornets were gonna win, I saw him with his helmet off standing and cheering for the team on the sideline, still in uniform. So I’m thinking it may not be too terrible. Hopefully he’ll be fine in 2 weeks.

Nice win and congrats to theBig Sky cochampions!!

We sure will have a lot to clean up the next 2 weeks in all 3 phases of the game. Too many mental mistakes and penalties here. The defense made some nice adjustments in the 2nd half, and the offense did just enough to win, but we will need to play mistake free football to move forward.

Stingers Up!

I agree. Despite the win, the team didn’t play well. The offense did a good job running then ball, especially when it counted most, but on the while they’re gonna need to play a lot better to advance in the postseason.

Defense only yielded 10 points, which was great. But they too can perform much better. I didn’t think they generated enough pressure on the QB. Gotta figure it out.

 Pretty hilarious considering their entire band got "me too'd" this off-season.

27-17 Hornets with a huge win over the dungpilers to secure a Big Sky Championship and a seed in the playoffs. HUGE! Hornets finish 9-3 and 7-1 in BSC play. From worst to first in one season. Absolutely astounding.

Hard to believe it, but this was the first win when trailing at half and/or entering the 4th quarter from behind.

Defense played great. They only gave up 10 points, and 7 of those was on a busted coverage. The dungpilers were only able to scratch out 133 yards of offense after the 1st quarter. Complete domination.

Offense got off to a rough start, but given the defensive domination it was only a matter of time until they got it in gear. They were able to grit it out and get points on the board. Those 2 4th quarter drives (189 yards of offense between the two of them) were beautiful. Way to go out and just take it from them. Hell of a way to end the regular season. 8-)

I saw Pierre Williams on the sideline trying to stay loose on the stationary bike in the 2nd half. Hopefully that is a sign that he will be available in 2 weeks. Bianco also went down as he got rolled up on. Not sure how bad it is.

19.8k in attendance. Tailgate scene was great and tons of energy surrounding this game. Bathroom situation was a complete disaster. That one is totally on the admin, not sure how they expect to have casual fans turnout every week without addressing something so critical.

SD: Once again, I couldn't afford to go. I hope to get tickets to our playoff game, though.

Question: You said that announced attendance was 19,800. In your estimation, would the place have fit another 200?

On the visiting side, absolutely!

We could have got a few thousand more onto the visitors side no problem. Home side was easily 99% full.

My offer stands for your playoff ticket too. Get your a$$ up here December 7th.

Always respect the UC Davis band . An incredible history of their band being at all football an basketball games.

Easy to do when you have the golden teet of the State fully funding every dream you can think of.

Biggest scam in the education world, why are UC and CSU funded differently? They should be funded the same as every other state does it.

It creates an artificial elitist snob class of "have" vs. "have not", not really based on intelligence and common sense.

How can they be me-too'd, when they are all binary life forces?

Or what about the FUCD buffoon poster who claims he was actually too scared to walk through the tailgate. He made it sound like the hood at midnight. What a tool!

As of right now, I have every plan to be at the playoff game. I'm expecting Furman, but would be happy with Austin Peay, too. A "new" opponent will be nice, particularly given that we're likely to face the Kitties again, unless we get lucky and they're upset before they get to our place....

“Also, I'll put this out there, if you happen to end up in Fargo during the playoffs, you can join our tailgate, we throw a pretty big party and you can eat and drink all you want...”

I’d love to take you up on your benevolence. Both teams have some winning to do before that game comes to fruition but if/when it happens I’ll be in Fargo. See you then!

Well, it looks like the pieces are in place for a semi-final matchup in Fargo, just need our teams to do their part. Seriously, if this happens, come on up and enjoy a cold tailgate (heated tents, so not too bad) and its always 70 in the dome.

I will be there if we make it! Wait, do you guys have enough bathrooms in the dome? Lol, see our thread about the Hornet Gameday experience.

I’m starting to think they just don’t care. It had been 5 weeks since the Montana game. And they knew to expect more fans for the Causeway. It’s impossible that Orr and Nelsen haven’t heard or read complaints.

So what gives?

Curious, have any of you reached out via social media to ask these guys about the restroom situation?

I’ve thought about it, but haven’t bothered as yet. Orr and Nelsen have ‘liked’ tweets I’ve sent them before so I know they read ‘em.

Perhaps we can all take to twitter, Instagram, etc. to seek a response or at least put some pressure on?

I mean, the situation is counterproductive to growing and maintaining attendance as they seemingly have been trying to do. So I would hope they’d listen or at least provide an answer if we bombard them via social media.

Just a thought.
