Week 2: Sac State @ Southern Utah

its getting ugly in bozeman. 28 straight bobcat points after our opening drive. we went for it on 4th-7 at midfield with 1:00 to go and MSU with 1 TO. didn't get it.....and..they scored.

what's the score here? i see 17-14 at the half on ESPN but its not up to date. all the BigSky TV is screwed up (good thing for us Ag fans....great start, then its gone to hell with their scrambling QB).

i thought SUU was gonna be tough....Sorenson is really, really good and that O-Line is tough..and....playing at Cedar City after 40000 in Corvallis makes it seem like the Witness Protection Bowl.

still think the Hornets pull it out.

Well it was an ugly 1st half. The special teams is to blame for a huge TD. Heath is having a terrible game. The offense has had success but they need to finish drives. The D has been holding their own. They are giving up yards but forcing FG’s. They have stuffed almost all the running plays and haven’t given up any long strikes (that have counted). The DL just needs to get more pressure.

The O has been hit or miss. SUU has no answer for Hilliard but the OL has taken off some plays. There has been no success passing the ball but Fleming has made some plays with his legs. This is going to be a grind.

I just turned on the 93.1 audio for the halftime report...and they are doing a recap on the OSU game. :ohno: WTF guys.

We've got to give the ball back in the 3rd.

That possession may determine the game. Allow them to get up by 2 TD's and that's an advantage you're probably not coming back from.

Pathetic effort by the defense. Far too many 3rd down conversions and easy throws on crossing patterns given up. Pass rush is almost non-existent

Offense is being too predictable and not protecting Fleming well enough when he does look to throw the ball down field.

Props to SUU for making those things happen, but I'm still more of the belief that it's what the Hornets are not doing than what SUU is doing. Hopefully they can turn it around in the 2nd half or this is going to be a painful loss.

The D has been a bend and don't break type so far, and against this spread attack run by a good qb that is about all you can ask for. Special teams has been a complete disappointment so far. The O hasn't been great either except from a couple of good drives. Plenty of time to turn it around.

Their only two touchdowns were on a short field on a horrific punt by Heath and Diniz and his terrible KO that lead to them running it back for a score. We need a new kicker, period.

We look so much slower on the grass field too. We need a stop
And a score... Sorensen is going to play on Sundays.

We need a new kicker and punter.

No way you blame the kicker on that return. That was poor coverage. Period.

he's the best i've seen vs. Davis, other than Kellen Moore and possibly Josh Johnson. He is really a good QB, especially if you give him some time.

Kick it out of the endzone like the SUU player. It can only be run back if it is in play.
If he is capable of doing that then sure. I assume he can't seeing as he hasn't done it in this game yet. Regardless, the rest of the kickoffs today should be short squibs or something. Basically don't let #2 touch it on a return again.

At that elevation, ball should be going into the endzone. That kick ended up at the 10 yd line. The wind is blowing in from the east and Diniz kicked off going toward the south. It was poor coverage, but you at least have to give your coverage team a better downfield kick.

They kicked it deep and covered it well to start the 2nd half. Argument answered.
