Week 4 - #24/22 Sac State (1-2) vs Central Arkansas (1-2) @ 6PM, Hornet Stadium!

Central Arkansas comes in at 1-2 with blowout losses at a good Missouri team and at home to a top ranked Tarleton State team. The Bears lone win was a blow out win at home over a subpar Arkansas Pine-Bluff team.

The Bears like to spread it out on the offensive side and run some RPO. UCA's offensive line is big but not very athletic. Quarterback Luther Richesson (43/69, 529 yds, 5 TD, 3 INT, 37 car, 134 yds, 1 TD) has a strong arm as this offense likes to take shots deep down the field. Richesson's mobility is respectable and he has some sizable running backs in Landen Chambers (38 car, 207 yds, 1 TD) and Cameron Young (18 car, 84 yds) alongside him in the backfield. Malachi Henry (13 rec, 159 yds, 1 TD) is the primary target in the passing game with 3 other receivers having at least 4 receptions on the season.

Defensively the Bears have struggled against any offense with a pulse, but again their opponents have been on the far side of the spectrum as far as talent is concerned. All of their sacks came against UAPB and the Bears have yet to force an interception on the season. They have a solid defensive end in Gary Lewis (10 tak, 3 TFL, 3 sac) that can control his side of the line. Linebackers Ny'len Ramon Jones (15 tak, 1 TFL) and Ashtyn Williams (15 tak, 1.5 TFL) lead the team in tackles.

Hard to get a read on UCA given their opponents. I think their size on both sides of the line will give the Hornets problems as they should give Richesson ample time to take shots down the field. If the UCA offense can find some rhythm they will have no problem moving the ball. This game has shootout potential if the Hornet defense can't find a way to get off the field on 3rd down. This game will tell everyone if the Hornets can go on a run and make this a meaningful season, which I'm thinking they will.

Stingers Up!
