Week 4 Sac St.

Goeags.Com has audio only listed for the game, can anyone confirm/deny?

What are we looking for in this match up? Should be a W, but anything to watch out for from the anemic Sac St team?

My older son and I are heading down for this one. Trying to hit every game this year, except N Iowa. Looking forward to a road win. I feel that our speed will be a big advantage in this one, the running game will explode, and the defense will shine.
Will be looking for EWU tailgaters. I know that Terry Jackson's parents will be there and I've got the location where they will be set up, so looking forward to seeing them.

Go Eags.

Man on man, if they score 37, it's going to be a scary year. They've only managed two-- TWO--- TDs against DI teams so far this year. I'd like to see us hold them to under 20, but under 30 is a must.

Dopa I agree that this is a game that the defense must show something. I don't think we hold them to 10 points, but I believe (hope) we can keep them under 30. I think the score will be 42-28 in our favor.

nwray1,
Team is going Charter Friday. Team is leaving EWU supposedly 09:30a.m. Possibly leaving about 11:30 a.m. We will be going out to see the Team and Fans off. Some of the Freshmen are ready to go out and hit some other Players. Will be attending the "Walk Through" at 3:15 p.m. today at Roos Field. Vic Wallace

krg281,
Got the :thumb: up from Jake yesterday after practice. He and the Team worked their butts off in practice yesterday. Each day I attended Practice, I noticed some of the young Players that was out last season, are back with the team. Once school starts they can bring back Players. One of he Players that came in this year with the Recruits, is ready to go, he is from O'Dea, HS. #57 Dylan Ledbetter, DL, don't know if he is going to Sac State, will check today. #57 used to belong to one my favorite Players, Dylan Zylstra, hope I spelled his name correctly. Here is hoping he is doing well after graduation. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

loloman,
Saw Todd yesterday, he said that you and Eric flew down to Sac St, Todd said he is not going with the team, he prefer to let one of the Players go if he has the opportunity play. That is nice of him, that is the type of person I know Todd is. Told him I hope the back problem doesn't harm his going into the "SEALS" after Graduation. We will be here cheering the team on Saturday, and come back with a "VICTORY". Will see the team off Tomorrow, they are coming down Chartered. Vic Wallace

No feel for Sac St at all... Don't think they slow down the Eags this week in general. Will be pass heavy with RB injury issues; wouldn't mind seeing better TE involvement as they are big bodies against LB's and safeties. Does Terry Jackson have the game of his life? Hope so.

Couldn't see game last week, so just the stats on D alone suggest not much has changed. Football IQ on the field? Thoughts? Again, didn't see the game. Know the 4-2-5 is the right scheme for our athletes.

Going all upside.

Eags 45 -- Sac St. 31

We are RVing it down to Sacramento as I type, boondocking it at the teams hotel parking lot then headed over to the stadium for a little tailgating. Jake is itching to play after sitting the last game out with injuries.
I predict a really good defensive game for the Eagles

Have a great trip, travel safe. Envious but happy you can watch your son and his brothers play. I completely agree, our defense will mature a great deal tomorrow night. Sac has some playmakers but without much of a threat to run from their QB we will eventually force turnovers and run away with it.

The bye week will get us ready for Cal Poly but I know Beau and his staff will have the guys focused on this game and this game only. They all remember 2008, 15-13 in an ugly home loss. Go Eagles.

I hate making predictions, but I didn't make any the first two weeks and we lost. Last week, I posted on a prediction thread and we won. Therefore, I'll keep doing it.

I just can't imagine our defense continuing to struggle as bad as they have been. I think we have enough variety with the 4-2 and 3-4 looks that we can find something that works. I expect to look at lot better this weekend.

Offensively, it appears were awfully good (again). I have a feeling we'll come down to Earth a little and not look quite as good as last week. But we'll still be effective and get our share of points.

The critical element for me will be watching the defense come out and try to assert themselves early. If they move down the field on us in the first couple of drives, regardless of whether it ends in TDs, that's a bad sign that they'll be competitive in this game. If we 3 and out 'em, I'm going to feel really good. Getting that quick confidence following last week's debacle will be huge.

Eastern 42-23. I really would like to see us convert a couple of FGs, because we're a whopping 0-1 this season and that is a bit alarming. The good news is our shanked FG on the last drive was the only time we've not scored when in the red zone in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time.

Those of you predicting we only score in the 30s, what's your method of thinking? Just curious. You're saying Sac St has a D better than Oregon and Montana State and comparable to Northern Iowa?

I realize our O probably won't put up 50+ every game, but I don't think Sac St is a team that's going to stop it.

I think we will put up few points this week simply because I see this game playing out as more of a grinder than a shootout. Our defense will play better and I think we will run the ball a lot.
