Week 4: Sac State vs Southern Utah
Southern Utah is coming in at 2-1 with a close win over FBS South Alabama, a blowout win against a D2 and a blowout loss at Washington State. It's hard to gage where this team stands.
Offensively SUU has transformed into a run first attack with the departure of QB Sorensen. SUU has almost a 2:1 ration of run to pass play calling. The SUU OL has some size up front, most of whom are upper classmen. The carries are split between RBs (#35) Raysean Martin and (#4) Malik Brown. Brown is the bigger of the two backs and is probably the one who carries it between the tackles. QB (#15) Aaron Cantu looks to be more than capable of leading this offense and has a 71.4% completion percentage but has a 5:3 TD:INT ration. He has a couple of tall WRs to throw to and distributes the ball to multiple receivers.
Defensively SUU runs a 4-3 and they have some good size up front. SUU has defended the run better than the pass but the opponents may be skewing the numbers. LBs (#7) Matt Holley and (#42) Zak Browning are the leading tacklers.
Special teams looks to be ok. Kicker (#95) Colton Cook is 4/5 in FGs with the lone miss coming from 51 yards. Their punter is solid and SUU has two KRs averaging at least 18 yards per return. SUU has allowed opponents to average 27.0 yards per return.

This will be a tough game but the Hornets need to win this home game. This will test the defensive front as well as the depth in the trenches. If the Hornets can come together and Safron has a solid outing then I think the Hornets win this one.
Go Hornets!
