Week 4 - @ UC Davis

Yikes!! That 2nd Half was like a kidney stone. Slow and painful! I really don't know what the plan was once we had a commanding lead. We are not good enough to coast. Just glad we pulled out the W tonight. That one could have gotten away from the Cats easily.

FINAL WRAP UP FROM DAVIS
Positives:
-WSU WON
-TEAM SINGING WEEEEEEEBEEER in the Tunnel after the Win
-Yes it's better to be lucky than Good
-Yes Davis is a Doormat
-47# HITS Game winning field goal vs the losing field goal from the other games
-47# Hits a 53 yard FG at Half time
-CLARK arm is Golden on a couple of Key Plays, I am only referring to his arm
-48# our punter is a beast! and extremely fast! Run Forest
-80-90 degree temperatures and sunny
-Actually had a nice little fan base at the game, nice to see
-89# Stripling finally got on the field for the first time this season,
-83# Tunney receiver getting some serious play time first time this season
-4# at RB new man up, have not seen last year or this, 2 carries and 2 first downs, love this Running Back
-1# Cam is the only starting receiving not to drop the ball a time or two during the game
-49 Long Snapper may be one of the best I have seen in many years!!!
-3 Denby is a good runoff and deep receiver
-Offensive Coordinator actually called a pretty good game
-Offensive Line played outstanding as usual
-Finally 30 is getting some game time at DB.....We need him on the field more
-Thank you 5# of UC DAVIS for the gift and the fumble rouskie, what an idiot, 16 seconds left UC Davis has all -of the momentum going into Overtime and you give us the ultimate gift, thank you.
-Coach Gould from UC DAVIS continues his losing ways at UC Davis,
-4# WSU running back finally say the field this game after a year absence! This guy is the most talented all around running back we have, Ran for over 1000 yards two years ago, ran over Arizona state a few seasons back with 100 plus yards against the devils in the first half alone. Maybe tonight was the night that Coach Hill lets him get out of the Dog house and starts letting him play again. Welcome back 4#.
-Love the trick plays on extra point

Negatives:
-WSU, DB's getting burned deep 4 times in the first 9 minutes, Thank goodness Davis couldn't execute
-How many times can 21 and 22 get burned in a game on WSU's DEFENSE
-WSU and the coaches don't know how to put away an opponent for the death kill
-Record high night of dropped passes for WSU. 87 drops 3 easy passes, now we know why San Jose said goodbye
-33# had 3 drops and fell down on one route which caused an INT. Face it our TE's between 87 and 33 Drop one pass for every one they catch, This really isn't college football it's pop warner.
-3 Denby is not a possesion receiver he either drops it or falls down, why does he always fall down?
-89# Stribling drops the ball on key play, ok I will stop pushing for him, I was wrong
-Clarke throws off his back foot into double coverage for an INT
-Clarke has multiple receivers wide open by 30 yards and checks down to the TE for a 5 yard gain when it is 3rd and 19? Clarke get your head out of your A#@$%#
-33# Offsides with the game on the line? 73 offsides on a key pass play, Heck its pass blocking not running
-6# Drew another drop tonight at least he is consistant
-6# Drew caught holding during critical play of the game,
-Time to close out the game and we throw to 26? How many dropped balls are we going to throw to him until we learn. With the Game on the line throw it to 1# at least he will catch it.
-Very little to no YACS this game
-The awful smell coming from 100 head of cattle that live on the campus, thats why the call it the farm
-1:21 and one time out and WSU is running the ball????nice 2 minute drill, Hill get your head out of your a@#$%
-87 has alligator arms with the game on the line. Yes the pass was a bit hightbut the game is on the line
-Clarke really does not know how to read a defense at all. Shame on the coaches at WSU that Clarke in his senior year of college as a QB has no clue how to read a defense???what a crime, Clarke actually had some amazing passes tonight, unfortunately he missed a heck of a game with lots of receivers wide open done field. WSU has a simple offense, it is a read high/low and one side of the field read, common man!
33# and 88# great blockers but not very good receivers.

Oh yea, another positive. Thank You UC Davis for the Beer Fest in the parking lot of the football stadium. Don't know many universities that officially sponsors a Beer Fest and lets the student body get absolutely trashed! Of course if I was a UC Davis Fan and alumni I would have to get blitz out of my mind as well to watch the Aggies and Coach Gould play football or whatever you call it on the Farm. It's 2016 can you get the 100 head of cattle off the campus, it smells like the Aggies football team

UC Davis message board lighting up last night and asking for Gould the head coach's head, I have been saying the say for years as well. UC Davis is headed towards their 3rd straight 2-9 season! We have a pretty calm and low key message board compared to most schools. Weber fans enjoy the win but realize the Wildcats almost lost to a doormat of a team again this week. The Wildcats are about 80 seconds from going 0-4 this season. Of course YBU is about 10 seconds from going 0-4! A win is a win no matter how ugly. Enjoy the couple of weeks off. Maybe they can teach Clark how to watch a little film and learn how to read a defense before his career is over.

We are also just a few seconds, or one less turn over, from being 3-1.

hey old timer lets not get ahead our ourselves. The two doormats that WSU just beat took the wildcats to the mat both games went to the wire! Those two door mats have no wins between them for the season. UC DAVIS is on a 5 game losing streak going back to last season. I don't consider a win over an NAIA team to not count as a win for a D1 team. So needless to say the Cats have not beat anyone this season. We will see what happens at homecoming.

...and YBU is what? about 10 points away from being 4-0, with 3 of 4 on the road and against strong SOS? How does that matter or relate?

It doesn't seem like they have been able to teach Clark much of anything to this point, you think this might be the week?

You know Clark isn't the best QB in the world and he does have his WTF moments but this constant blaming him for our issues crap is getting old. I'm pretty sure its not Clarks fault that the defense has given up an average of 36.5 points per game.

Our offense despite the turnovers and stupid mistakes is scoring the points necessary to win games, however our defense is giving up way too many yards and way too many points.

Yes things need to be cleaned up over the bye week but Clark is far from being the sole reason behind our woes. Our offense is playing much better right now than they did last year.

I think you are a few weeks late posting this. Most of the Clark bashing (deserved or not) was a few weeks ago. :-D

There was progress made in the UCD game. Turnovers did not hurt us. UCD scored 3 points off ours and we scored the winning 3 points off of theirs. Our defense held their running game to under 100 total yards. However, our pass defense gave up more than we would like. We knew that UCD's offense was good. They put up points against some good teams.

The one area that I would like to see our D improve is in creating turn overs. That may be a lot to ask, but if we could get on the plus side of that, life would get easier for everyone.

I'm hoping that a bye week will result in us getting some of our injured guys back. :coffee:
