Week 6: Sac State vs Montana State

The Hornets will play tough, no doubt in my mind. This game seems very similar to the Montana game from last year. This will not be a cruise for Montana State. I really do believe Idaho State is better then we think. Idaho State is in the middle of the Big Sky right now. They are better than UNC, SUU, WSU, Us, North Dakota. That would be 5 wins if they play all of them.
 
With the loss against ISU last week, we are in dire need to beat a top tier Big Sky team to get into the playoffs. I think that we all agree that MSU is a better team; however we are playing at home and MSU doesn't expect much from us after our loss against ISU last week. Also Darnell Sankey is rested. I hope he shows MSU that he is the best defensive player in the league.
 
NCU knocked off NAU 24-17. NAU had 5 2nd half turnovers, as we proved last week that don't work.

Montana hung on to beat North Dakota on a last second FG. ND had no OL, Montana has a decent defense but their offense continues to look listless. They couldn't even move the ball with their starting QB in. He got hurt late in the first half and was on crutches.

EWU is leading ISU 55-53 with 3:45 left in the 4th. Adams is dinged but still in there up ISU lost two receivers. ISU has already scored more points on EWU than they did on us without the gift of 4 turnovers.

EWu might run the table in the BSC but they won't go far in the playoffs unless they can fix their defense.

I don't think we really know how good any of these teams are and how they match up.

Go Hornets, beat the Bobcats!
 
I was off by 4 points, MSU gets the TD with 4 seconds left- lets see if we can get to 7-5 and have a winning season. Guys played their hearts out, did a good job on the come back.

Oh my . the nightmare continues for this Hornet football program. What to say. There is some sort of hex over 6000 J Street.
 
Indeed, the Hornets took the mighty lucky MSU Bobcats and the awful Big Sky officials to the end of the game yet again and came up short yet again. And the Hornets mean nothing to the FCS going down to the #13 team in the nation with 4 seconds left. And MSU celebrates with Commissioner Fullerton over a Big Sky CA school yet again. Someday it will change.

Amazing job by the Hornets tonight. 4 seconds shy .... hold your heads high Hornets and just GO FOR IT the rest of the season. Youy have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
 
Hornet Stadium has become the field of dreams for visiting Big Sky teams.

Have a good week of practice Sac State and buckle down next Sat.

Yup. Same sh!t show, different day. All Sears had to do was turn an awful defense into a below average defense and this would have been a special season. Playoffs are only possible if this team runs the table the rest of the way.

Incredible courageous effort by the offense, that last kick return really broke our back.
Deflating result, I thought that this time we were finally going to be able to stand toe to toe with a ranked team and get the nod, it wasn't to be. Let's hope we can put this behind us and take it to UNC.

Affirmative. There is a jinx/hex on that piece of land. I believe the archaeology dept. has found scrolls that show millenium ago, the 100yds. were used for Modoc ritual sacrifices.

Special teams lost it again, I agree, that KO return broke their backs.

Really thought we were going to prevail with us starting out with the pic6. :roll:
 
Kick-off team definitely not good but how about the other 59 Points or the penalty that took away the TD before first half?
