Week 8 - (RV) SAC (4-3, 3-1 Big Sky) vs. (#4) Montana (7-0 3-0 Big Sky)

Yeah i feel the defense is just very bad it played well in at SDSU and Nevada but since then they have been horrible in all other games. You aren’t gonna win with a defense that bad. The corners suck man I’m sorry. I can’t remember the last time Sac State has quality corners. It’s like they can’t recruit them.

Don’t wanna be a downer but at 4-4 I think they have to run the table to make the playoffs. I dont think they beat Manure Pile with this defense. So I see 7-5 and out of the playoffs. They won’t let them in with what Wood said in regards to JV comment. Just my opinion to me it’s over this year.. hope not though.

They absolutely have to win out to make the playoffs IMO.

I think there’s a good chance this team is 7-4 going into the Causeway for a win and you’re in game. Which I would not expect is to win. Lol

I'm hoping coach mixes in a few snaps a game for other quarter backs going forward. See what you have. There are a ton of talented receivers on the team who aren't going to stick around without a passing game. Williams put up yards against Montana, but hasn't hit anyone in stride all season.

Until they have discipline, this program will stay at .500.

Too many penalties. Too many missed tackles or out of position. How can they have multiple false starts a game at this juncture of the season?
This goes to the coaches too. Mixed substitute players on/off the field, winding down play clock. Williams had a few frustrated snaps with clock down and players running into position.

FUCD, Montana are historically better bc they have discipline and smart fundamental players.

Other was 3rd down defensive off sides by #2, giving the bad guys another set of downs and ultimately a TD.

The offsides was on 3rd and 14 setting up 3rd and 9 when Rocha and Lee then missed the tackle several yards behind the LOS.

They both occurred on the same drive. The offsides was dumb, but it didn’t hurt the Hornets as the subsequent play did. Had they made the tackle, the offsides wouldn’t have mattered at all.

Yeah, the corner situation reminds of the eras before Taylor. They did have good corner play during Taylor’s era though.

It’s maddening to see these guys in one on one coverage and seemingly never look back to locate the ball.

No, can't see that it would have. And probably wouldn't have paid much, either.

The bigger picture though is that a lot of people who have or are working toward professional careers as artists are seeing their skills and years of experience becoming less valuable or possibly extinct for a large percentage of them. I don't think it's strange that they're upset and acting frustrated by this.

If the career I've been working in for over a decade started to transform into a nearly free commodity due to AI I think I'd panic a bit.

Tough scenario but I’d hope that most people getting degrees in ART are going to use it others ways like Education. Teaching Art appreciation to students should be part of basic education in youth.
One of my sons wanted to be a software engineer writing game code for EA Sports as example. I told him those jobs will disappear with AI was my projection.
Thankfully he made pivot to civil engineering, as parents we need to try and guess the evolving future and the investments in education.

Finally tally was 10 for 80 versus 1 for 5.

Hard to beat anyone playing 18 on 11. Sure, the Hornets were undisciplined and committed many of their penalties, but there’s no chance Montana only committed one penalty all game. They just weren’t calling them tonight.

That said, the Hornets beat themselves with unforced error after unforced error.

The 3 plays that stood out most to me were the missed tackle by Rocha and Lee leading to UM’s first score, the holding penalty called on Sam Adams nullifying Hammond’s kick return (SAC ended up turning the ball over on downs on the failed punt fake), and, of course, the botched punt return by Fresques in a tie game just before half.

That’s a 21-point swing with just 3 plays.

100% Accurate. That 1 penalty against Griz was a delay of game 5 yds on a punt I believe. Refs didn’t have a choice but to call that penalty.

HC Marion per his comments post game regarding the defensive performance seemed that he will be insisting they make some changes.
Our offense is putting up good points but YES Williams throws haven’t been hitting the receivers in stride.
Williams is starting because of his feet IMO.
Maybe QB3 gets more reps this week? WHO do you guys think is QB3?
