Week 8: Sac State vs Cal Poly

EWU wins by only 8 over UNC on their red football field.
Montana wins by 14 over UC Davis with Davis only behind by 7 late in the 4th quarter. Ags go down by 14 in front of nearly 26,000
MSU 7-3 over Weber State at half??????? What is up with that.
Idaho State game appears to be going well for the Bengals over SUU with the BS TV feed dead but not sure based on just three posts on the ISU fan board.

48 seconds left, you just gave up a touchdown, lost momentum and you take a knee going into half????

You Just conceded- great move. Would be great if the coaches would remove their heads from their posterior portion of their body.

LOSERVILLE!

season over.

of course we have our best crowd at 11,000 in years

Of course we go up big and quickly give it up on ST and big plays.

Of course our best defensive player goes out with injury.

of course records are set and we still lose.

something so strange about the same old story with Sac State football.

A sad 2014 homecoming with football , volleyball men's soccer all going down to defeat at home.

The worst fall sports showing for Sac State maybe ever.

Bring on basketball.!!

Time for big , big, big , big changes at 6,000 J Street. Please bring on the best AD and the best coaches in all sports.

Enough is enough

This is an athletic department going backwards.

Hitting the bottom now and the only way is up with the right hires.
And hires that are not just talkers but will get it done.

The Sleeping Giant known as Sac State continues to be in a long , long sleep.

Go Hornets.

Offense can not go 3 and out vs a run game like Cal Poly. Defense needs to get some stops. Kicking game was ok. No big returns 2 Field Goals. Hornet returns were decent. Mixed it up a lot. Only punted 2 times I think both ways. Turnovers kill you

Safron played bad tonight, some really bad ints. Agude wasn't getting the jump balls. Once offense stop moving ball defense went down hill. Nice to have kicker make FGs but we need TDs. Poly has Petersons number. This sucks. Could be worse Dung pile has 1 win vs D2 team that's it. My guess is there is more to fix then play calling

This is so frustrating... I'm getting tired of seasons of 6-6 or 5-7.. There is too much talent on this team to play .500 football.. It is the coaching and the schemes that are being run… It's time to move on and make some changes with the staff

Well I guess I should have stuck with a blowout loss prediction after all. I thought the season was over after the ISU no show, but this loss officially seals it. This loss should also remove any doubt regarding Sears being the right person for this job; clearly he is not up to the task. This roster is just too talented to be playing this poorly, that falls on the coaching staff.

The ball is now in Macriss’ court, if he doesn’t have the stones to make some moves this offseason then there isn’t a point to care about Hornet football (and Hornet sports in general) until we have an AD who will.

Very disappointing game last night. All the best to Darnell Sankey the radio crew said that he will need surgery on his knee this week. That was a huge loss last night and for the rest of the season.. Let’s hope for a speedy and complete recovery and a great 2015 for Darnell. Aside from Poly’s first drive the defense contained the option pretty well, it was a even game. After Sankey went out Poly had success up the middle, created separation and the game was over. At 4-4 with 4 games remaining we are going to see what this team is really made of. It's gut check time!

Hornet Stadium is a dump but is a nice looking dump when the rusty bleachers are packed. Some great photos on hornetsports.com of the nearly 11,000 people at the homecoming game. So nice to see. You never see the west bleachers on Big Sky TV. Wish the cameras could be set up on the empty east side to show that Sac State really does have crowds. Always looks so empty on Big Sky TV with no one on the east side but the large banners covering up empty seats.

I completely agree. Unfortunately there is no facility on that side for staging such a suggestion. :thumb:

I know trying to compare football stadia to hoops gyms is like comparing apples to oranges, but Hornet Stadium is a veritable PALACE compared to that gym (barely worth a middle school) at UC Riverside and the Thundercr@p at UCSB....

Agree.
Hornet Stadium is indeed our best athletic facility and looks amazing when it is full , and the Well and the field house that surround it are top notch. The stadium of course needs its upgrades, but Hornet Gym is a complete embarrassment and nothing can make it look better accept a knock down and start over.

Great to see Cal Poly destroy the #6 nationally ranked Montana Griz tonight by 20 points. Montana thinks the Big Sky Conference is weak and they need to move up. Not so fast. And think again. Time for the CA Big Sky schools to at last get the wins they have come so close to over the many years against UM, MSU and EWU.

And how bout #2 nationally ranked EWU going down to NAU tonight.

Great to at last see this and may it continue.

And Idaho State at 3-1. Wow.

All good.

Go Hornets and get into this shake up and changing of the guard. Montana State is now on top, a team we lost to with 4 seconds left.

I think it's time for people to look out for CP. What they did to Montana was EXACTLY what they did to us: a second-half explosion.

I was shocked to see that EWU lost to NAU. Some crazy things going on in the Big Sky right now....
