We're not very good

We have gone backwards from last year

I quit watching 1/2 way through the 4th quarter. We could not run, pass or cover special teams. Sears is obviously a clown, like he was at Weber.

I see no need to stay up with this team this year. Good luck to the players, hopefully you can get real coaches next year.

That was so bad, Ketteringham looked terrible. RB's will not hit the hole. Defense odd front got pushed around. ST worst I have ever seen. Didn't see anything good. Nothing to look forward too.

Don't forget the secondary. WO would have scored a few more times if their QB had been more accurate or WRs had t dropped a few. When they weren't turning our D Line to shreds they were passing at will and beating us every time. And then there were the undisciplined penalties...

Not a good start to our university's 25th anniversary commemoration of Div I athletics. Feel bad for a football program that has had great moments over the past 25 years but has come to what happened tonight. And do hope things turn around and the team gets better throughout a season that appears to be another growing season yet again for Sac State football that seems to always be in a growing year or just right at the verge of moving into being great.

May the team do well the rest of the season and stay healthy and compete the best they can .

Stingers Up!!

ST. Oh my, such a mystery over the decades of Sac State football.

We score then the opposing team scores right back.

How does this continue to happen?

It is like Sac State is so transparent on the football field .

After a touchdown teams come right back on the kickoff and score or after a punt Sac State gives up the score.

So odd. And yet so common

Coaches usually do not survive losing to a lower division school..so it is just a matter of time when we all start speculating who is going to be the next head coach.

Hey guys,

You won the competition this week. You put up more points on your Oregon opponent this week than we did. Congratulations. :notworthy:

-Your Uc Davis friend

Angus McClure is the answer to this program... Period. He owns the west coast in recruiting... Every high school coach knows him, loves him and wants their players to play for him... He has a lot of business connections in Sacramento... He has been at UCLA for 10+ years and is the only coach to remain through 3 head coaches... He has coached both sides of the ball, plus special teams in the Pac12... He has put many players in the NFL... He will make Sac State a great program...

Hard to argue with you... Too bad Coach Sears got a fat extension after one 7-5 underachieving season with Sperbeck's players...

Will he take the job.

We have heard UC Davis loves Coach Angus for many reasons, as ironic as that may sound... Coach Sears is a great guy and there is no disrespect for him...
Let's grab Coach Angus as soon as possible... Mike Riley at Nebraska has been hot on bringing him back there as they want west coast athletes, and Angus is a direct connection... And known for it...
It is time to build a real program at Sacramento State and move into the Mountain West... It makes sense...

Angus McClure. He would really want to be a HC. If true of him being wanted in Nebraska that means they are willing to pay. We are talking a difference of 200K in pay. I like the guy, and suggestion but want to make sure we know reality from fantasy. Sometimes I think we believe we have more then we actually have.

Angus McClure certainly has a great coaching reputation. Few assistant coaches have been retained as long as he has through several changes of head coaches. I'm not sure that he has a interest in being a head coach.
Did he ever apply to be head coach at Sac State or anywhere else?
The Bee's State Worker Database shows him making $264,000 for 2015, Sears $183,000, Gould $240,000.
Sears $183,000 is too much for producing two wins in 2015, one of them against a D2 team. Too bad these guys aren't paid based on wins!

Saturday night's performance was very disappointing. Not to take anything away from the players but the team looked flat and disorganized, that's on the coaching staff. Unusual for a team to be penalized 90 yards against a lower division team. The special teams were especially pathetic. I expected for adjustments to be made at halftime and for us to take control of the game, that didn't happen.
This team has a lot of talent, we should expect a far better effort and result than this.
I realize that there are new assistant coaches, some coaching assignments have been changed and it may take a while to coordinate everything but the clock is ticking . If we end up with anything even close to last year's two win record it's time for immediate change.

Congratulations to Western Oregon, they were well prepared and played a great and courageous game. They did everything they needed to do and they deserved to win. I hope they have a great season!

Paul Wulff will slide into HC role, ala Sears and Sperbeck.

In 25 yrs of Hornet football, that was the worst performance I have witnessed.

Only 6585 fans they also failed a major strategic plan tenant for attendance.

Worst on field performance since Brady. We are young however have more then enough talent to put away WO. Bottom line, team is (was) unprepared. Wow, I feel so badly for the Athletic Departments staff (and Bill McCriss)...Somehow they will have to put a positive spin on this pile of poop!!! Hard to be a "football" Hornet!!!
