CCU was a good warm up for things to come.

WCB is not a good team at all. This one will be very one sided. The only positive is that everyone who can play will play. I really do want to see Paschal, Tshilobo, and Moore play in a game. If there is a game when everyone can play, it's this one. Those guys may be needed down the road sometime.

Moore, concussion protocol, and Suarez, ankle, sat out this one. Moore is the only one to have not played yet. Everybody who has played has scored. Freshman PG Grayson had 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 9 points, in a backup role tonight. Second year player, Cutler, had 13 rebounds in limited minutes. Starting center, Gomma, had 12 rebounds. Nobody played more than 23 minutes and that was a back up freshman guard.

We out rebounded them 78 - 30. All in all, a much better outing against a much weaker opponent.

Now, the real tests begin, Utah, Utah State and UC Irvine, all on the road.

I know that game was basically a scrimmage, but I’m not sure a game like that does any good for Weber State. I’m sure the University had to pay West Coast Baptist a lot of money. Sure, the entire roster got playing time, but does that really sharpen any skills against that level of competition? I know it’s tough to schedule these days, but hopefully something more challenging exists?

From what I saw on tv, it looked like 75 people attended…might be a tough year attendance-wise even if play improves with all that is going on.

I don’t think a win is in store for the next 3 games, but I just don’t want a pre-game apology for taking the court against these teams and just see some gutsy effort!

When we play up, we get from $60,000 to $90,000. When we bring a team like WCB in, we pay from $8,000 to $10,000. UC Irvine is a home and home contract, no money exchange.

I don't know what the official attendance was, but I would guess it at around 1,000. Not well attended at all. I'm hoping that attendance will pick up as the season progresses.

A game like that is just fun for the players. The improvement happens at practice. That is where the work is done. The games are a test and are supposed to be fun.

The next three games are certainly a test. We won't be expected to win any of them. That doesn't mean that they can't be fun for the players or the fans who care.
