What a night!

Just got home from the games and I have to say that was amazing! Good job by Idaho State, who put up a tougher fight than I thought they would and condolences to Weber, that was a great game!

40 minutes to the NCAAs! GO VIKS!

PSU-72 ISU-61

Wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. Hope we come out with more energy and not so tight against Northern Arizona. Should be a good game, Go Viks!

When was that game tight? It was no Montana, but most of the game felt almost relaxed.

I had to work until 8:30 so I couldn't come to Rose Garden. But I ran over to the City (sports pub downtown), and it was great to have PSU on the big screen. I noticed there was a very nice commercial for PSU on....felt like the SEC.

A pretty nice turnout from PSU faithful, although I expected a few more casual fans and ISU fans. Great night all around.

Few thoughts on the night...

Good times at the PSU alumni gathering in the Rose Garden. The place was packed. Much nicer than where it was held at the MC years ago.

I was hoping that we could match the 4300 that we had a few years ago for the semi, but 3188 is over double of what our guys play in front of. Hoping for many more tonight.

We struggled against ISU's zone early and seemed to be getting pushed around near the basket. Coston was the player of the game in my opinion. His toughness under the hoop sent a message that ISU was not going to come in here and have their way with us. JD and Huff were great to get the scoring done, but Kyle's 27 minutes were great.

Usually I'm irate when Scott doesn't get 30+ minutes, but given that he's just coming off of an illness, I think it is good that he will be fresh for the game tonight. Also, it was cool that Bone pulled the starters before end of the game to get them some well deserved ovations.

One more and we're dancing!

I wanted to cry losing to NAU 3 times...but I guess they owed us we beat them 3-0 last year.

I don't care that they won though, go Viks!! Hand NAU their butts like you did at the Stott and represent the Big Sky well at the NCAA!!

The 2 closest cities are Anaheim and Denver.

Sadly, I did not know about the alumni function. How did you hear about it? As a Viking Backer, I would've thought that I would've been notified in some way.

I think there was an email to the PSU Alumni Association. I was in charge of session tickets, and my Dad was in charge of the Alumni tickets. ;-)

Unfortunately, though, Marty, Scott wanted to play in the second half, and needed to, to get ready for tonight. He needs the coaches belief and confidence in him, and needs the floor time. He gets unsure of himself when he starts getting jerked around by Bone.......again !! Scott's also put in 4 years with the program, and this is his swan song. And he definitely did not want to spend it watching from the bench for 15 minutes.

It was clear after the first 5 minutes of the second half that the team was going to win last night, even with a smaller line-up, but Bone needed to work with Scott last night in the second half, as he's going to need him against NAU's size. It's my belief you gotta dance with the girl that brung you, and Bone made a big mistake last night. You can't jerk players arund like they're on a string.

What can I say, Marty? Sounds like you are a good man to know. /users/31/07/37/smiles/269784.gif
